(WTWO/WAWV) — Dobbs and Deming Park will temporarily close on May 31 for the ninth annual Memorial Day 5K and fun run, the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department announced Monday. The 5K will start at 9 a.m. on Memorial Day in Deming Park. Participants will run toward Dobbs Park and then circle back for a finishing lap in Deming. Awards for all age groups as well as door prizes will be distributed for the race. The one mile fun run will start at 8:40 a.m. inside Deming Park. The races, according to the press release, will be in honor of current service men and women, military veterans, the American flag and the American way.
