A DORSET police officer struck down with Covid-19 after being spat at by a suspect has called for the Government to urgently place police officers on the priority list for the vaccine. The 47-year-old police officer, who has asked not to be named, has a consistent cough and high temperature since being spat at while on as he was trying to arrest a man on January 6. He said he came down ill two days later and then tested positive for coronavirus. The officer has since lost more than a stone in weight, has hardly slept and is unsure of when he will be fit enough to return to work.
