Dozens Dead in Afghanistan Flooding The Weather Channel 2 hrs ago Jan Wesner Childs Flooding in Afghanistan has left dozens of people dead and scores of others with nowhere to live. The country's disaster agency said earlier this week that at least 50 people had died and 16 were injured during four days of heavy rainfall that affected 17 provinces in the war-torn country. On Saturday, international news agency EFE quoted disaster ministry head Tamim Azimi as saying the number had since climbed higher. “We have so far found 78 dead bodies. Thirty-two people are still missing while another 30 are injured,” he said. More than 2,600 houses were damaged or destroyed, according to EFE.
