Matt Southern with South Carolina Highway Patrol.The crash happened at 10:15 p.m. on US Highway 178 near Slab Bridge Road near Liberty.According to Southern, a Dodge pickup truck was traveling west on US 178, when a Toyota SUV traveling east attempted to make a left turn on Slab Bridge Road, and the two vehicles collided.The driver of the pickup truck died, Southern said.According to Southern, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and became entrapped inside the vehicle. The coroner has not identified the driver of the pickup truck.The driver of the SUV was injured and airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital, Southern said. The driver was wearing a seatbelt.This crash is under investigation.
