FIFE COUNCIL must build on a heat-warming story in Dunfermline to bring 'green' energy and cheaper bills to more residents and businesses. Rubbish is already being used as a source of fuel in the town and Alex Rowley MSP said the newly-passed Heat Networks (Scotland) Bill was an opportunity to extend such schemes, create jobs and tackle fuel poverty. In the Scottish Parliament, he said: "There is currently a district heating system in Dunfermline that is run from the Wellwood tip. "It heats not only the Carnegie Leisure Centre and the multi-storey Broomhead flats but the Tesco store and the art gallery at Fire Station Creative.
