Dunlap fire chief pleads to DUI; sentenced to non-reporting probation
PEORIA — The chief of the Dunlap Fire Protection District pleaded guilty last week to drunken-driving charges.
James Hanson entered a plea in Peoria County Circuit Court to a single count of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to one year of court supervision, which is a form of non-reporting probation.
The supervision began on Feb. 2, which was when Hanson pleaded guilty, and will last one year. He was also ordered to pay $2,881.50 in fines, costs and fees, according to the Peoria County Circuit Clerk's website.
When reached, Hanson, 52, declined to comment. According to the county's records, his traffic record locally only has one other violation, for speeding, and no criminal convictions other than this one.
