Eddie Obeid, the corrupt former NSW mining minister, can remain living at his Hunters Hill mansion for the next seven weeks before he is jailed for conspiracy, after a court extended his bail on Thursday.
His son Moses and one-time political ally Ian Macdonald will also remain at home until a two-day sentencing hearing begins in the NSW Supreme Court on September 8.

All three are not permitted to leave their residences unless they are visiting legal counsel or for medical appointments. They must report to the local police three times a week.
