And this picture of Fortuneswell, Portland, has to be one of his most interesting. It shows a very different looking Underhill taken by the sharp bend of New Road. Recognisable is the former Portland Town Council building, now apartments. You can also see an advert on the side of a building for Bovril, and on the right of the image for Camp Coffee. You can also see a couple of vehicles making their way up and down the hill and people on foot frequenting the many shops in Fortuneswell. In the distance is the sweep of Chesil Beach and to the right of the causeway, the Mere Farm Oil Tanks, built between 1907 and 1913.
