By JOVILAND RITA, GMA News Published July 27, 2021 8:53am All protest actions and public assemblies staged on the day of President Rodrigo Duterte’s last State of the Nation Address went generally peaceful, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said Tuesday. In a statement, Eleazar said no untoward incident was reported in the mass activities. “I am glad that reason prevailed over these groups to peacefully disperse or called-off their activities altogether,” he said. “The best interest of public health and safety, and the rule of law spoke louder than the political undertones of these mass actions in the streets,” he added.
