A lot has changed since the first case of coronavirus was reported in our coverage area one year ago. Every facet of life was affected which had local residents turning to anything that would help them understand and cope with situations they never realized they would be in when Governor Roy Cooper initiated the first "stay-at-home" mandate for North Carolinians in order to control the spread of the virus. Many called on local officials to help interpret the mandate and were concerned about how law enforcement was going to police the pandemic. However before they were able to continue operating in a safe manner, LEO had to tweak their own policies and procedures for themselves and the public. What came to be universal was the practicing of social distancing, handwashing and mask-wearing, which remains the same today.
