Branch members in rogue MP Andrew Laming’s office say Queensland’s Liberal National Party headquarters tried to get rid of him before the 2019 election but backed down because they were worried about losing the seat.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison is rejecting calls to dump Dr Laming from the government’s party room as LNP insiders say the Queenslander’s bad behaviour has been tolerated for too long.
