FOOTY fanatics across Ipswich now have another reason to celebrate this week’s highly anticipated State of Origin kick-off.
While thousands often take in the hard-hitting action from the comfort of their living room, this year Ipswich Central is tipped to transform into a crowd of maroon and blue.
It comes as Ipswich City Council announced Tulmur Place at the CBD would host an evening of festivities to mark Game One of the series.
Among the celebrations include food trucks and a licensed bar.
The series opener, which was moved to Townsville due to Melbourne’s COVID lockdown, is set to feature on the city’s newest installation – a 6mx3m LED television screen.
