The Food Manufacture Site Team of the Year went to the Carr’s Flour team in Silloth for the extraordinary work of the employees during COVID-19. The judges highlighted that just three weeks after a phone call from a major retailer’s head office, in the midst of the pandemic, the team had signed off and implemented all commercial, technical and logistical criteria to supply the retailer's stores with Carr’s branded flour. Carr’s were praised as this process would usually take six to twelve months, and for executing this when there was a shortage in retail flour due to unprecedented consumer demand during the UK-wide lockdown. The Silloth site also supplied bulk flour in the retailer’s packaging to help with supply.
