PITTSFIELD â Advances in technology aim to make life better, but for those with physical or developmental disabilities, that change has been transformative. "We say over here, for people without disabilities 'technology makes things easier,'" said Sal Garozzo, executive director of United Cerebral Palsy of Western Massachusetts, which is based in Pittsfield. "For people with disabilities, we say 'Technology makes things possible.'" Garozzo, who has served in his current position since 2015, has over 30 years of experience in the human services field, which includes previous positions with organizations in New York state and Maine. We sat down recently with the Rensselaer, N.Y., resident and talked about why he became involved in his chosen field, and how technology has helped the people his organization serves live more productive lives.
