Punch Newspapers Sections Okechukwu Nnodim, Abuja Published 15 March 2021 The Federal Government has been called upon to extend the reduction of duties and tariffs on cars and minivans that carry less than 10 persons. Recently the government reduced the duties and tariffs on imported vehicles that carry more than 10 persons from 35 per cent to five per cent, a development that was greeted with commendations. Reacting to the development, industry operators under the aegis of the Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria lauded the initiative of government but stated that the reduction should be extended to cars and minivans. They told journalists in Abuja that cars and minivans made up the bulk of vehicles used for intra-city and inter-city transportation.
