The Daily Telegram FAIRFIELD TWP. — The simmering conflict between former members of the Fairfield Township Fire Department and the township board continued Monday in the board’s first meeting since most of the department’s members resigned in protest in February. Expecting a large turnout and unseasonably warm weather, the board decided to hold its meeting outside, in the driveway of the department’s fire hall The nearly 40 attendees were a mix of residents concerned with the current state of the department, a few who supported the board and a large contingent of department members who resigned, their family and supporters.
