Farmers, more than most, need to be future focused
It is truly shocking that Michael McCormack, Nationals leader and deputy PM, said “... I’m certainly not worried about what might happen in 30 years’ time” with respect to setting a climate target (“Nationals back farmers over climate stance”, 8/2). Farmers, those whom he is trying to protect now, will certainly be worried about what might happen to their land and their livelihoods in a short 30 years time.
