Fatal shooting under investigation in Town of Culpeper

CULPEPER, Va. (WVIR) - Culpeper Police are investigating a fatal New Year’s Eve shooting that killed one and sent another to a hospital.
It happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday on Third Street.
Police say an adult male victim died in the shooting, and a 17-year-old boy was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center with injuries.
Police have not released their names.
Investigators believe everyone involved in the shooting knew each other, and there is no threat to the community.
