FBC Risk And Reward With Deidre Bolton November 27, 2017

Just another day of Sexual Harassment allegations, this time on capitol hill with senator al franken pleading for forgiveness today but also resisting calls to step down. All comes the House Minority leader nancy pelosi to take the heat defending john conyers calling him an icon. And then just a crazy case of whos the boss in washington. Mcmulvaney speaks out. Well hear from him in just a moment. Hes the current budget director, and hes also been pointed the acting director of a giant Consumer Protection agency. But heres the thing. Theres a lawsuit challenging that. Essentially leaving two people fighting over one job. What a mess. Tonight, an allstar lineup to cover it all. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee kicks it off, katrina pearson, the Weekly Standards fred barns, and conservative millenial, theyre all here tonight. Im connell mcshane, this is risk and reward. And on wall street today, well, the dow hit an alltime high. At least intraday. It did not close at a record. Came off the highs. Still up on the day by about 23 points on the day that is known as cyber monday. Big shopping day; right . Well talk a lot about that. And well do it here in just a moment. But first, to senator franken showing up today for work on capitol hill and resisting all of that pressure to resign. And he still faces these allegations of Sexual Harassment. The kiss at the rehearsal we were rehearsing for a sketch. I said that i recall that differently from lee anne, but i feel that you have to respect, you know, womens experience. I take a lot of pictures, thousands of pictures of me. Tens of thousands of people. So those are instances that i do not remember. It has from these stories, its been clear that there are some women and one is too many who feel that i have done something disrespectful and have hurt them. And for that, i am tremendously sorry. Connell former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is our first guest this evening. Always good to see you, governor. The first thing, you saw how senator al franken respond today. Should he have resigned . Thats something he has to decide. But if hes not going to resign, i think that we have to recognize that Sexual Harassment isnt that big of a deal. Now, what he said i found frankly troubling, colin. I mean, heres a guy who said, well, i dont remember it that way. In other words, i dont remember putting my tongue down a womans mouth who wasnt someone i really had any right doing that. I mean, thats pretty bold. I mean, does somebody forget that . Connell youre right. He never answered that part of it. Because the question was what do you remember differently than what she remembers . Because that was his initial statement. I remember it differently. He never answered that, you know . Well, and i think the other thing too, connell, was when he made this comment that, you know, i take thousands of pictures. I just dont recall that every time i took one or at least a lot of the times, hundreds of times, maybe, i reached over and grabbed a woman from the behind. I mean, i think you know that you do that. I dont think thats something you dont have any memory of. I cant imagine that. If so, thats some early on dementia. I mean, thats what i found troubling. Connell there were a bunch of troubling signs in all of this, and there still are. One more on frankens explanation today. He said he did some quote heavy reflection. Lets take a look at this. Ive been doing a lot of reflecting and i want to be someone who adds something to this conversation. And i hope i can do that. Connell hes trying to buy himself some time, or at least to me it seems. I dont know what he hopes. But he hopes that enough time will be enough to make this go away or at least allow him to continue. What do you think . Well, bottom line is he didnt deny what happened. And he basically said i guess its true because everybody said it was, and i may not remember it quite like that. But gee, i want to believe these women. Well, thats in essence an admission. So he the question before the senate. If youre asking roy moore to get out of a senate race for something that he was alleged to have done 40 years ago that he has denied. And now some new evidence kind of brings some questions about the accusers, then how do you say he has to step aside, but al franken can in a political ethicals committee here. In the political realm, it does sound just to bring in that roy moore for a moment. It does sound like maybe you think this helps a roy moore in alabama. Well, i think its really been a lifeline to the Roy Moore Campaign because it sort of said, look, once nugget office, you can get away with all sorts of stuff. So the key is just getting there. I dont know what roy moore did or didnt do. I have no idea. I know that he has denied it. And unlike al franken, roy moore said, well, i dont know. Maybe i did these things. I dont recall. He said i just simply didnt do them. And without a due process, without confrontation of the accusers, without at least a presumption of innocence until Proven Guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, what you have is hearsay, accusations, and theyre serious. And you take them very seriously. But my gosh, with conyers and al franken, theres some real issues going on here. Not the least of which is whether taxpayers shelled out money unbeknowingly to a secret slush fund to cover some of these things. And that, to me, is probably as bad as anything weve heard. Yeah. I think thats the one thing. When people say really . That happened . And, yeah, it did look like it happened. Boy, theres so many other topics that we can talk about. One of them, governor, was just in the last hour or so. Mcmulvaney comes out. Hes the budget director. And now hes supposed to take over this Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the cfpb, which Elizabeth Warren helped came up with after the financial crisis. So the president appoints interim director there. But another person, woman by the name of lef left knee andra, shes suing mulvaney, the president , i guess suing everybody saying she should be in charge. So you basically have two people vying for the same job. Its like an only in washington situation. But anyway, mulvaney spoke to the press a short time ago. Lets first listen to that. Here he is. This agency will stay open. Rumors that im going to set the place on fire or blow it up or lock the doors are completely false. Im a member of the executive branch of government. We intend to execute the laws of the United States, including the provisions of doddfrank that govern the cfpb. That being said, the way we go about it, the way we interpret it, the way we enforce it will be dramatically different under the Current Administration than it was the last. Anybody who thinks a Trump Administration cfpb will be the same as a obama administration, is naive. Elections have consequences at every agency. He pointed out, by the way, that ms. English apparently didnt show up to work today. Whether she had a vacation day or didnt show up. Whatever it was. But what do you make of all of this . I thought the most important statement that mcmulvaney made was the ocean. He was quoting. I dont know if you realize or not, but he was quoting barack obama who says elections have consequences, and they absolutely do. Whether it was an election of president obama, whether it was an election of President Trump. When you have a new administration, they get to bring their own people in. And if this person who is now suing to keep a job that she has no legal right to try to hold onto. If she doesnt understand that she absolutely has no business being in federal government, and this is simply another attempt to circumvent the rightful election of donald trump as president. And its really an attempt to circumvent the will of voters. I would like to just keep it in that context. This is a group of Government Employees and in this case, one in particular who wants to say i dont care what people voted on. I resist it. I reject it. Connell, thats pretty serious when a person whos supposed to be working for the voters decides that im smarter than they are, and im going to defy them. But i expect them to still pay me. Good gosh. What arrogance. Connell its crazy. Were going to come back to it. Another is nancy pelosi, and shes taking heat for her interview yesterday with todds meet the press and talking about the conyers situation and his accusers and also praising his legacy, which is what a lot of people are talking about today. Here it is. We are strengthened by due process just because someone is accused is it one accusation . Is it two . I think there has to be john conyers is an icon in our country. He has done a great deal to protect women. All right. Your reaction to that, governor. Well, once again, i guess the democrats have a different set of rules. Maybe their slogan is lets go and win one for the zipper because thats what it seems like theyre all about. Im just astonished that she would defend what john conyers has been accused of. But then anyone who makes an accusation against a republican, then youre supposed to take it at face value. Its not just that the allegations are serious. Its that the double standard of applying them is equally, if not more serious. Im sure everybody, before i let you go, is waiting for me to ask you about this. With the reporter suggesting that your daughter, whos the White House Press secretary, faked a twitter picture of her own pie that she baked. Theres the pie. Theres your daughter, Sarah Sanders. April ryan says quote show it to us on a table im not trying to be funny. Show it to us on a table with folks eating it and you cooking it. So i want you to tell us every single thing that you know about this pie, governor, and i want you to tell us now. Connell, sarahs been making that pie for years. Its from a old time recipe. Ill have one on christmas, and i look forward to it, and i hope sarah will find time this week, bake one, take it to the White House Briefing room, let everyone have a taste, and theyll realize shes pretty good making a pie. Connell and its a good pie. Attest. Great pie. Chocolate pie. Its Chocolate Fudge in a pecan pie. Its the kind that makes you stand up on the table and slap your grandmother. Connell thats very well put. The white House Wednesday this week. I think shell make it that way anyway. Good to see you. Happy thanksgiving. All the rest of it. Take care. Connell big business day today as well. Cyber monday. And the expectation, the analysts say is for 6 billion plus in sales to be done on the world wide web. The floor of the New York Stock Exchange to make. It was up 23 points. During the day, though. We are looking at eight days in a row for gains for the s p 500. But getting right estimates 6. 6 billion and friday, black friday was the record. This too would be a record for cyber monday and overall online spending is expected to be up nearly 16 year over year. So much of that will come from mobile, which is a big jump. And how much will everybody spend. More than about 3. 5 to 967 a person for the holidays. Connell. Connell all right. Nicole. Thank you. Now, the search is on for a gang of grinches who robbed and ransacked a family run Christmas Tree farm out in california. Its one of the tree farm owners here on that. And tax reform certainly not a done deal yet. But there were some positive signs for the effort today. So well talk about that. Up next, former trump 2016 Campaign Spokesperson katrina pearson. We continue to see our jobs in our research march overseas. I cant imagine were not going to support this. I believe it will pass. I dont want to be that senator who defends the status quo, blocks it from occurring. We need to get this accomplishment. We have got to get this done. Im not prepared to go home for the holidays until we get our work done. Well, the senate is trying to get it done. Pass tax reform and do so in a hurry, running up against a deadline to fund the government, among other things. Republicans could vote on this tax bill before the end of the week. We will see what happens and adam shapiro will be there to cover it all on capitol hill. He joins us now. And i know this can change sometimes by the minute or the hour, but how are things looking this evening, adam . Well, they are on track. There are certainly negotiations going on behind scenes. But lets bring you up to speed as to where we are right now, where were going tomorrow, and then possibly friday. First, the big lunch that took place. Members of the Senate Finance committee. This included orrin hatch as well as different people that are going to influence the legislation met with President Trump, and they were talking about what do you expect, tax reform. Now, one of the big issues at play here is senator ron johnson as well as senator steve dane from montana is joining ron johnson. They have said they are no votes on the tax reform bill as it exists right now. But, of course, theres a negotiation underway. They want to raise 17. 4 tax deduction. That small business, S Corporations use on income to perhaps 20 . Theyre working with the president. It looks as if theyll get a deal, and there will be a yes from those two. But that still isnt enough to guarantee a pass if it comes up for a vote, say, friday. So heres what orrin hatch said not only about that, but also about reconciling the senates bill with the house version of tax reform. We always have to deal with everybody. So its not any one particular person. These are tough times. These are tough issues. Theyre hard to deal with, and weve had to deal with them. Were always able to come out right in the end, so well see what happens. So what happens next tomorrow . 2 30 the Senate Budget committee is going to join the tax reform legislation with a bill out of the energy committee, which allows for drilling in the actorric reserve. That will eventually get out of the Senate Budget committee and off to the floor of the senate for debate. The republicans are not expected to take their 20 hours of debate, which would clear the way for a possible vote come friday. If it passes in the senate on friday, two possibilities. You could either have the house eventually vote for the exact same senate bill, or you could go to conference committee. But, connell, as i wrap up, it appears what theyre trying to do is a preconference committee. Get the changes in the bill that the senate will actually vote upon, changes that people in the house would be willing to vote for, and they can save a lot of time by avoiding a conference committee. Connell thank you, adam. Adam shapiro on the big story and adams reporting senator rand paul today says as things stand, he plans to vote for the senate tax bill. Urged his colleagues to step up, as he put it, and back the measure as well. This all came at a fox news oped. The connecticut senator writing and im quoting him now. This tax bill is a true test for my colleagues. Im not getting everything i want. Far from it. I fought for and received major changes for the better, and i plan to vote for this bill as it stands right now. Senator paul had been one of the largest hurdles, senate for the senate gop leadership during the debate over repealing and replacing obamacare that we saw earlier this year. So this time around, even if he is onboard to adams point, there are he other question marks that remain. Lets talk about it now. Former trump 2016 Campaign National spokesperson katrina pearson. You know, this is all the stuff that we get distracted by and, by the way, taxes i dont think came up once at the White House Briefing today with Sexual Harassment allegations, this time on capitol hill with senator al franken pleading for forgiveness today but also resisting calls to step down. You know, this is all the stuff that we get distracted by and, by the way, taxes i dont think came up once at the White House Briefing today with Sarah Sanders was all of these other topics. But for all the things we get distracted by, this was the big one; right . The republicans if you talk to them, and ive talked to a number of number of them. They say we have to pass this. We have to get this done. Do you think theyre going to . I think so, connell. And, you know, rand paul was absolutely right in his approach with regard to the gop tax bill. It is inconceivable to assume that all of the senators are going to get 100 of what they want in tax reform. But we have a once in a Generation Opportunity to have tax cut across the board. Not to mention Something Else that the senator wrote in his oped in fox news was the simple fact that there are 97 different federal taxes with a code that spans more than 47,000 pages. We have an opportunity now to do right by the American People and get rid of that. Connell heres what i think is the biggest challenge for the president. I think its personal. In other words, for senator rand paul or senator johnson or some of the other senators that adam brought up in his report, getting him from a maybe to a no or yes seems conceivable. Like, you can imagine that happening. But for some of the oversenators to come up like a mccain or corker, you look at the past relationships with the president. I know theyll say im not going to let that affect my vote. But we may never know. I still think thats a factor. No . Well, it most likely is a factor, especially the ones that you have mentioned who are on their way out. They have no incentive to do what the president wants. But thats why there is a reminder that theyre not representing the president or even themselves. And thats why today, connell, America First policies have purchased a half milliondollar ad buy going out to eight senators and six of those states. Five of which the president won. Three of them by double digits. So we would like for those senators to look at the merit and be part of this onceinalifetime opportunity, really, to really get down and do what the republicans have said theyre going to do for years, and that is to have tax cuts, to help the middle class, and get the economy growing. Connell and well see if they can get that vote by friday, as adam said. Katrina, good to see you. Thank you. Connell another big story today. Sales of u. S. Singlefamily homes unexpectedly rose. These numbers coming in october highest level in ten years. Robust demand across the country in the housing market. So with that, we take a look at wall street on some of the homebuilder stocks. And even with that news, dr horton, Toll Brothers all ending the day in the red. Next up, theres a fox business exclusive report coming your way. Massive data breaches have put millions of americans private info on what they call the dark web. For cyber criminals can buy it. So Hillary Vaughan has been reporting on this. There she is in l. A. Shell have the details after a quick break think your Large Cap Equity Fund has exposure to Energy Infrastructure mlps . Think again. Its time to shake up your lineup. The alerian mlp etf can diversify your equity portfolio and add potential income. Bring amlp into the game. Before investing, consider the Funds Investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses. Read the prospectus carefully at alpsfunds. Com amlp connell all right. Were back with a story that is worth paying attention to. Millions of americans private information is on the dark web. And once its there, cyber criminals can come in and buy it. We have researchers who have created a cyber criminal Shopping List of how much these hackers are willing to pay for the stolen info. Hillary vaughan joins us now from the bureau in los angeles with more. Hillary, tell us about it. Hey, connell, well, r sa cyber Crime Intelligence team went under cover on the dark web to figure out how hackers are selling personal data and more importantly how much its worth. Hackers are trying to diversify how they package and then sell this data. And one secret dark web economy is now operating in plain sight. Researchers discovered over 500 forums on social media platforms are actively being used by hackers to market this stolen data. Their marketplace is growing and the researchers found their tactics are evolving and their targets are changing. Hackers will still pay top pa dollar for accounts tied to Financial Institutions as much as 15 per account. But researchers found an unexpected demand for other data with a big price tag. Dating sites. Hackers will pay up to 10 positive personal info pulled from these dating sites. And heres why. Because they can harvest personal information from your policy to socially engineer what they call a synthetic identity and then using that, they can try to open accounts in your name. Theyll also pay up to 5 for instant messaging for that account info. Theyre also targeting your travel loyalty points with hotels and airlines and will pay 50 cents more with that because they can then use those points to find gift cards and cash out from there. Well, the team has an inside look with how hackers categorize and market this stolen data. They call it data packages and dumps and can offer buyers specific details on whats inside. Where the data came from. How they obtained it, and whats inside. They may also advertise if the data is associated with popular retailers or companies. There are tons of tools that these cyber criminals are using so that they can better package up the dumps that theyre buying and selling in the underground so that the people who are buying them can use them within the local region where they have their mules, and those are the people that theyre using to cash out and go buy goods at a store or go purchase stuff online for them. What a story. Hillary vaughan with it from the los angeles bureau, and you think about how scary that is with these literally, synthetic identities that can be created, and you see how much it can be sold for online. The dark web. Something most of us know so little about. But can be so damaging in so many ways. President trump interim director of Consumer Financial Protection Agency just speaking out a short time ago to reporters in washington and elaborating someone on his philosophy now that hes there. And, well, think so hes in charge of the bureau. Listen. We both share the belief that this administration this particular bureau under the Previous Administration had gone too far over towards strangling access to capital. Making it difficult for Financial Services to flow and as a result, folks that we want to try and help or hurt, were going to try to fix that. Talk more about this the Weekly Standard executive director fred barns joins us now. First of all, mcmulvaney there in describing this agency in washington before we talk about the drama surrounding it, which we talked a little bit about with Mike Huckabee earlier on. Is he right about what this Consumer Financial Protection Bureau really is . Yeah. Its a run aaway agency. Ive never seen anything quite like it in washington. And there was no way to stop it. It was unaccountable. It didnt get its money from congress. It got director turned into a dictator, and they did whatever they wanted. Congress said when it was created, you cant regulate auto loans. Well, they just went ahead and did it anyway. Connell now, the drama that i alluded to, he wants his deputy to take over and he is well, i guess not in charge. Mcmulvaney shows up, directed by the president. Now, shes suing because she wants to be in charge but if youre following all of this at home, mulvaney said she didnt show up for work today, so maybe she should lose her job anyway. I dont know. What do you make of this . I think its pretty ridiculous. Connell yeah. Mulvaney has squatters rights, if nothing else. And the law is that the president chooses the director. And he has chosen at least on a interim basis mcmulvaney, who seems to do the job. And weve already seen a bill passed to have a reduced agency with less power of the director and funding from congress and so on. Its already passed the house and the senate. Then what you wind up with is this agency that just duplicates what others do. Other regulators. And i think it ought to be killed in that case. But it looks like theyre going to try to keep it alive. Connell well, thats the question right, fred . Its obvious that the president and mulvaney, they dont like this agency. So is that the end result here . They just get rid of it at some point . Well, thats not what theyre advocating right now. Maybe theyll get to that. They should get to it, you know . Ronald reagan once said if i can quote him correctly. The Government Agency is the nearest thing to eternal life well never see on earth. Well, here is a perfect target, an agency that certainly if its weaker, its merely duplicative. Connell fred barns, great to see you. This is on for a gang of grinches who robbed and ransacked a familyrun Christmas Tree farm in california. We have that story. And senator mccain now blasting Hillary Clinton for telling her its time to get over the election. Conservative millenial ali coming up on that my digestive system used to make me feel sluggish but now, i take metamucil every day. It traps and removes the waste that weighs me down, so i feel lighter. Try metamucil, and begin to feel what lighter feels like. Connell the bitcoin went up today a lot. It seems like its interesting. Above 9,000. First time weve seen that. And the gain this year is almost 900 for the cryptocurrency. For some perspective, its now worth seven times the amount of gold and has a market cap higher than im, mcdonalds, or disney. Bitcoin. Hillary clinton recently saying President Trump was obsessed with her. Were going to talk about that. But first, listen. Apparently, you know, my former opponent is obsessed with my speaking out. Apparently there was another somebody told me tweet today. Honestly, between tweeting and golfing, how does he get anything done . I dont understand it. So maybe thats maybe thats the whole point. Connell that sets up senator john mccain who went after mrs. Clinton for her continued criticism of President Trump and the election last year. Senator mccain telling her to get over it is a quote from the senator youve got to understand that you cant rewrite history. The hardest thing to do is shut up. Whats the expletive point . Keep the fight up . Youve got to move on. This is hillarys problem. She doesnt have anything to do. Conservative millennials. Ali joins us now. And, boy, those are rough words from another former president ial candidate who says he has moved on and she should too. Im not sure she ever will. What do you think . Conservatives get criticized all the time for continuing to talk about Hillary Clinton and, of course, like you said, trump gets slammed for being quote obsessed with her. However, what are we supposed to do when she refuses to accept the results of the election that happened a year ago . Every few weeks we hear Something Else about Hillary Clintons reinserting herself into a political narrative that has rejected her. So i think john mccain is absolutely right in asking the question what is the point . Shes really expressing the frustration and the confusion that so Many Americans have with Hillary Clinton. And if there is so much work to be done like she says there is, then get to it, girl. Theres no time to waste. Connell you know, you say conservatives get criticized for talking about her so much. I think conservatives would love to see Hillary Clinton run for president again or even see Bernie Sanders run for president again. A repeat would be just fine with many republicans. What do you think . I think absolutely. I mean, its clear that Hillary Clinton is really the crux of the pr problem for the democratic party. And it was so obvious in 2016 that democrats were unable to unite behind her and her message. So if she wants to run again, then i think that would be beautiful for the republican party. Exactly what we need. Connell another sort of interesting topic or comment over the weekend i was reading. Actually, the way into work. Susan, i dont know if you saw this. She spoke to the guardian and said that the u. S. Would not be better off with Hillary Clinton as president. The quote, well put it up from susan. I did think she was very, very dangerous. We would still be fracking. We would still be at war if she was president. It wouldnt be much smoother. Look what happened under obama that we didnt notice. So theres a bernie supporter, i guess. What do you make of this . Yeah. So susan and i probably disagree on a lot of things politically because like you said, she is an avid bernie supporter. But i commend her for laying partisan politics aside and being honest with herself and honest with her audience that Hillary Clinton is dangerous because of her corruption. No matter what your politics are, its really easy to see. Connell now, split is some people say, and i think theyre somewhat right to a degree. Republicans are right. Theyre fighting with each other about something. These democrats rebuke theyre pretty split too. I wonder which way theyll go. Not name in terms of the the candidate but do they go far to the left or find someone who moves to the middle . I wonder. Yeah. I think that we kind of see them going into the direction of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren who are very far left. Unfortunately, i mean, its unfortunate for america, however, i do think it would be lucky for republicans. I dont think america is quite ready to adopt socialism, which would be the case if Bernie Sanders was the candidate. Connell ali, thanks. Good to see you. Thank you so much. Connell now, amazon black friday sale records have now pushed the founder and Ceo Jeff Bezos net worth past 100 billion. 100billion. Amazon. Com making bezos 32 billion this year in 2017 alone. So, yeah, hes swimming in money, this guy. The stock closed the day in the green. Today up almost another 10 bucks. Its up 58 this year, amazon. Almost wow. Almost 1,200 a share. 11. 95 a share for amazon, which has been some, some story. Now the search is on for this gang of grinches that went in there and robbed and the familyrun Christmas Tree farm out in california. Well get to this heartless holiday crime ending a 40year tradition for our next guest. Thats coming up. Ravine tree pharmacoowner eric. There he is. Hes about to speak out about this and give you the details on just what happened. No matter how the markets change. At t. Rowe price. Our disciplined approach remains. Global markets may be uncertain. But you can feel confident in our investment experience around the world. Call us or your advisor. T. Rowe price. Invest with confidence. Connell you may have noticed your Christmas Tree is up a little bit this year. The reason being is theres a tree shortage out there. The experts say you could be paying 10 bucks more than last year or thereabouts. Now, that story comes with this out there. A familyrun Christmas Tree farm was forced to shut down during their busiest season. Its in el dorado, california and reportedly they stole everything tvs to chainsaws and the worst thing is the crooks are still at large. Im joined by its coowner. Skypes in with us tonight. And tell us, if you can. I went through a little bit of it. But tell us exactly what happened here. Good evening. So my father went on a short trip for with grandma for her birthday, returned on sunday before thanksgiving, they noticed that the front gate on the driveway was broken down, they pulled up to the house, and the truck was missing, it was parked outside. The farm truck. And all the doors to the house were open. And they went inside and the entire place had been completely ransacked. They went through everything and stole all the valuables out of the house and the barn. Connell man. So you said the key to all of this, and i think we have a picture, if somebody could just find the red truck that was stolen. Its an old stuck. An 85 chevy; is that right. Yeah. The 85 chevy s10 pick up. There arent many of those on the road anymore. Were confident if we can find the red truck, well find the bad guys. Connell really, there cant be; right . It would stick out kind of sore thumb an 85 chevy, wouldnt it . Very obvious. Somebody should be able to find it. And, yeah, they stole a lot of other key valuables for the farm. The pot that we make the cider, the hatchet that we split the wood for the bonfire for the customers, and the chainsaws that we use to clear the mountains so its safe for people to walk up and cut their tree. Connell what a disaster. Anything anybody up there could help you do to get involved . Really, all were asking from the public and especially your viewers in El Dorado County is to find the red truck. We know its out there. And if somebody could to the spot it, call the el dorado sheriff or california highway patrol, and lets get these guys behind bars. Connell its kind of like a crowd so you went thing. And maybe that works. Somebody spotted it. Somebody saw that truck, lets find it. Not that many out there. Well, all the best. And, boy, we could have had you on to talk about the Christmas Tree shortage. Well, we would like to take advantage of the shortage for our business. But well be ready in 2018, and well sell more trees then. Connell good luck and all the best with this okay . Have a merry christmas. Merry christmas. Coming up in a moment. Also has the lowest survival rate among all major cancers. Fiveyear survival rate. Only 9 in the United States. The pancreatic cancer expert at nyu dr. Diane is with us right now. Good to see you, doctor. It is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month, which is one of the reasons we wanted to talk about this. So, you know, what i think one of the things that stands out when people talk about pancreatic cancer is it seems like its so difficult to find sometimes. We always talk about Early Detection but a lot of times you dont find it so early. Why is that . Youre exactly right. And part of the problem is we dont have an Early Detection test. The pancreas is actually hidden in the posterior part of the abdomen behind the stomach not easily palpated by physical exam or by a scope. Connell right . Like we can with colonoscopy. So often not detected until its too late. Connell is there progress made . Or something people should know they can do looking for symptoms or something they would feel to allow it to be detect detected . Obviously, thats the key. Clearly, there are warning signs associated with pancreatic cancer. One is if people have unexplained weight loss, in particular, if its accompanied by upper abdomen pain that can radiate to the back. Connell right . Two, if you have a development of yellowing of the eyes, thats a sign that there might be something wrong with your pancreas. There are other causes. But, again, its associated with weight loss. Connell now, once it is detected, treatment has also become an issue. I dont know if debate is the right issue. But certainly a discussion. I think that came up in the public eye, at least, with the stove jobs case. Maybe should have been more aggressive treating it as opposed to a holistic method, i believe what went with. How aggressive people should be in the treatment of pancreatic cancer once they find out that they have it . So there are definitely good options for patients with pancreatic cancer. One is about 15 of patients are amenable to have their tumors resected, so its important to see a specialist and to have highquality imaging of your pancreas. Even with patients that may have more advanced disease. Either wrapping around some blood vessels near the pancreas or spread to other sites. We do have a growing number of therapies for pancreatic cancer within the increasing array of efficacy. Now, you mention the survival rate is 9 . Its slowly creeping up. Although, its still in the single digits. But i feel were at the cusp of a break through. Connell is it because of the research youre seeing . We have a very Large Research community now and not only in the United States but around the world, and we are tackling Clinical Trials in a new way for pancreatic cancer. Theres a new effort to develop whats called platform trials where were able to test multiple experimental therapies for patients. And even offer individual patients multiple Treatment Options during their journey. Thats a new program nationally called precision promise. We also have the pharmaceutical industry, which in the past has not paid as much attention to pancreatic cancer perhaps other cancers now engaged with us and trying to really go after pancreatic cancer. Well, its Awareness Month and, you know, sometimes those things are overdone. But i think tonight we hopefully raised awareness. Its such an important issue and hopefully people learn something. So thank you so much for coming in. We appreciate it. All right. As we do move on tonight, this market, it has been a booming market when we look at stocks. Does it continue . One major Financial Firm seems to think it may not. Thats after this zar one of our investors was in his late 50s right in the heart of the financial crisis, and saw his portfolio drop by double digits. It really scared him out of the markets. His advisor ran the numbers and showed that he wouldnt be able to retire until he was 68. The client realized, i need to get back into the markets i need to get back on track with my plan. The Financial Advisor was able to work with this client. Hes now on track to retire when hes 65. Having someone coach you through it is really the value of a Financial Advisor.
