Maria your thoughts on nafta, lets get into trade because this is one area that people feel like this could disrupt markets if we see tariffs coming down on imported aluminum and steel and then we know that this week the new round of nafta talks is beginning in mexico city, mexico and canada looking to canada looking to rework elements to have nafta agreement, what are your expect agos . Well, nafta can be improved. I thought there were significant flaws in the Clinton Administration<\/a> deal as they cut it with side deals on the environment and labor that could be eliminated. I think we can move toward a better free trade in north america, the real problem in trade comes from countries like china that make commitments in whats purported a free trade regime but pursue policies to their advantage that we dont call them out on. I think this is a classic american problem. Other countries violate agreements and we dont call them out on it. Maria any thoughts . The president first president with any kind of power here, he made it very clear, hes willing to tear up the agreement if he doesnt get a good deal on this. I dont think he wants to do. I dont think it would be great for the economy to tear it up. Lets canada and mexicano Maria Trudeau<\/a> put out a tweet and made comment that hes willing to walk from nafta. Justin trudeau of canada and that was one of the things accelerated the market decline. I think canada is not in the strongest position maria why would they do that . Im optimistic we will get improvements in nafta that would benefit all three countries only because trump insisted because he wants them to comply with obligations. Maria are you good with tariffs on aluminum and steel . Im worried about tariff war. Countries that are systemically violaters like china and think through a strategy that puts them on notice that we dont accept it and i would link it with developments in other areas, strategic and military areas as well because i think that puts more pressure on china. Maria we know that wilbur ross knows about steel dumping, he was in the business and saw all competitors coming and dumping steel much cheaper in the u. S. And his plan is to, you know, smack those sanctions, smack those tariffs on imported steel but i dont know, you dont know how this plays out. Understand why thats the reaction, the question is that first move in a longer strategy or is it simply taking the only step we feel we have, i think theres systematic problems here that need to be addressed. I think free trade really is the president s objective and what hes objecting to is systematic manipulated trade over decades thats disadvantage to the United States<\/a>. Maria all right.
