Takes a mount trunk, his 2020 democrat rivals taking aim at billionaire status. This is bulls bears, thank you for joining us, im david asman. Joining me on the panel jonathan ho nick christina, scott martins. Michael bloomberg confirming his White House Run calling the president and ex potential threat. Lets head straight to Hilary Vaughn with the very latest. Reporter the former mayor says he will not take a penny from anyone to bankroll his campaign but he does not need it, he just dropped 30 billion on tv ads for the first week of a candidate spreading 1 million in bigcity media markets like new york city, los angeles, houston and miami. Also other places like fargo, north dakota and mississippi. He even as spending time or a lot of cash to start in early stateside iowa and new hampshire, instead he skipping ahead to places like virginia where he kicked off the first day on the campaign trail. I have no idea, but we are going to do that test and is called voting. Reporter he might save his thoughts on the 2020 rival for the ballot box but they are not afraid to blast him over his billionaire status. So on day two of Michael Bloomberg 30 milliondollar ad. [laughter] Michael Bloomberg is making a fit about democracy in 2020. He does not need people, he only needs bags and bags of money. Reporter bloombergs decision to not take donations from anyone could be a problem because thats a matrix the dnc decides whos on debat on the de states. But he seemed unfazed about being left out from future debate saying he wants to take his message straight to the people but getting his message out may have pickup because the editorinchief of Bloomberg News world out new roles for 2010 in coverage say now there in the mix, the outlet will not investigate any 2020 democrat out of fairness but they will continue to investigate coverage of President Trump. David did you notice when they were in the diner there was not any salt in the group of condiments. [laughter] they took out the salt. He will not get over that. Thank you very much. As hillary mentioned Bloomberg Media company says it will not investigate him or any other 2020 democrat candidate but they will continue to investigate the Trump Administration family and the Bloomberg News says they were no longer run unsigned editorials. How ethical is all of this . Bloomberg has been all in for bloomberg since it started. Four months i listen to Bloomberg Radio in the morning and its so antitrump it makes your ears bleed. Theyre so onesided. He does not have to be pro berg, his messages im going to defeat donald trump right he is going about this as a billionaire could who has Never Campaign nationally, advertising he is awkward to go out into retail politics. By the way we saw he is terrible at it. I like Mike Bloomberg, he is flat, dry, not somebody whos going to get a crowd worked up in my view is he is going to push super tuesday to get enough delegates so we end up with a broken convention. Thats a real possibility, is not happen since 1924, at a broken convention all the tens of millions of dollars he has spent on behalf of the candidate in 2018 and also 2016 and the Interest Groups he funds could be very important to him. David thats a good point, with respect to the timing of all this, the timing is curious because he is flat, maybe hes getting training or trying to figure out how to rile up the crowd. It might be the curious statement behind why he waited this long. I thought he was going to be in over the summer, it was delayed, the risk is his flat. The democrats are worried about humana during. Liz and bernie are concerned about this, theyre concerned about mike. But with respect to how he has to get crowds fired up. He does not. Its a most like a science experiment because he was not on stage so he was not attacked by the fellow democrats even though they weighed in immediately but he is literally going into this race so late in the game that the focus is going to brown super tuesday in general. Im wondering how he is going to change his narrative because the progressive or the elizabeth warrens have rallied against capitalism and billionaires and then a billionaire entering the race. How will he resignation with those that are muffling between both sides. I think the biggest loser is not going to be Mike Bloomberg but Bloomberg News. David you started out asking, is ethical that Bloomberg News was a major News Organization wont cover him or investigate him or any democrat. It is going to hurt their reputation. This happened in 2016, a paper called the new York Observer was owned by Jared Kushner and they said they would not investigate trump and hurt their credibility. Bloomberg will survive, hes not running out of money but this is a major loss of credibility for Bloomberg News and as us as a public we have a lot of media choices including fox business. David practically all of the media are against donald trump, lunenburg has been antitrump and will continue to be entered trump is not anything new. For the last several years ive been very disappointed that Bloomberg News was not down the middle. I think they had a real opportunity with the New York Times and Washington Post going so far left to be the honest broker in the media landscape. Sorry to interrupt you, they can see the same thing to our network. Theres no one on the right and no one in the middle. Dont they have to have a balance. [inaudible. [inaudible] what does bloomberg look like over the course of the next year. Lets say he has some trouble, in the polls and they start to get ramped up. Does Bloomberg News, cleaned it up quite a bit when we thought he was going i wonder what that looks like over the next year end have a changed their stripes at all if it slips in the polls. David another problem, he has been under businesses and in the past he said he would separate himself from the business part he has not said that in the past couple of weeks, does he have to do that . The obvious answer, not me but anyone on the left will be the president , did he separate himself, he still tied to his businesses in the fact we talked about hosting things at maralago. Hosting businesses, is that not a conflict of interest, to your point one of the new stories about the said bloomberg will no longer be a major and not a political reporter. There are many others. David it does affect the Financial News they will continue to bash the economy, say its terrible for everybody and only workin working. David im just wondering if he could strengthen the hand of the progressives, you said liz warren and bernie are worried about him, i think it might strengthen their hand because it divides the moderates between him and biden. Thats considering that biden has already dropped. Thats the weirdest thing about the timing. He was coming in as biden was falling out. But now biden is on the rise again and therefore maybe thats where the timing is curious in my respect. Then it doesnt hurt as much. All these issues about conflict of interest. If the gop wants to go that way bloomberg has plenty of examples when it comes to trump, none of these examples means anything unless bloomberg can get some momentum. Its like a dead fish. There should be no worries. Thats a question, can 30 million worth of ads take him out . David he will spend as much as it takes to get the message out. China making a major concession to the u. S. On trade, what does that mean for the december 15 tariffs around the corner. We will ask former Trump Campaign curtis ellis he is here next. Step up, please. Empty your pockets. Tum tumtum tum tums david stocks hitting record high as china budget is on a trade demand to raise penalties on ip theft, we will have more on that in a moment Jonathan Hunt is in hong kong with the very latest on a historic Election Night which could not please the chinese communist. Reporter prodemocracy activists were back on the streets of hong kong monday night demanding more from what they turned the liberation of a couple of dozen students who are still held up on the campus of hong kong university. But the mood on the street is also somewhat celebratory given the huge victory, the prodemocracy movement one at the ballot box. The silent majority expressed but there is still a long way to go. Is an uphill battle we will continue to fight until we get free election in the victory of hong kong. 70 of hong kong 4 million registered voters turned out leaving even some probeijing watchmakers to say its time for the Hong Kong Authority to exceed to some of the protesters demand. Obviously not every of them would be but we have to think twice about answering peoples calls from no one. A real wakeup call for the government. A real wakeup call review the big question remains, how does the central Chinese Government respond. Will it decide to start accommodating some of the protesters demand or will it move to crush the prodemocracy movement. Back to you. David thank you very much. Back to china, 20 days around the next round of tariffs, your senior policy advisor at America First policies, curtis ellis. This report of some agreement on ip, does that mean the first phase possible in the next couple of weeks. This is another rumor that we hear time and time again that they budged a little and maybe they will put some penalty in place for ip theft. The Sticking Point is enforcement, we cannot trust the chinese to enforce whatever laws they put on the books. By the way, the ukraine has anticorruption laws. [laughter] david how do you get through that . At some point you will have some deal hopefully with china, how do you enforce that . This is what ambassador lighthizer the u. S. Trade representative has been working on for some time, we thought we had a deal in may where if the chinese dont live up to what they say theyre going to do, tariffs increase, tariffs not back in tariffs even increase. This whole ip thing is getting way out of line or were getting ahead of ourselves because starting next year the new chinese Cyber Security law that every bite and bit of data in china has to be available to the Chinese Government and the intelligence services. There will be no private messages, no encrypted messages, no confidential data, no trade secrets, every company doing business in china has to have its Computer Network completely assessable. It sounds like a great place to be. [laughter] the interesting thing, with respect, lets just say this is weird ive changed my stripes a bit on the trachea. I think something is going to get done and maybe with teeth in it. Lets say we can get down that road of ip protection. Tariffs come off and win. Its a matter of enforcement and tariffs are what brought chana to the table and you can Start Talking about doing something. I would be very leery to see tariffs being removed because those are the enforcement mechanisms. In december the best outlook is no additional tariffs but not any rollback. This is interesting when we started down this road everybody said tariffs will destroy the economy and tariffs are a horrible horrible thing. The economy is doing quite well in our debating what we put more tariffs on or not. And now everybody will be happy if we dont put more tariffs on. In the extensive conversation that weve all had, do you ever hear linkage between what is going on in hong kong in the trade discussion, are the chinese concerned enough about their public image, about the Impact Hong Kong is having on Mainland China economy, we know there is an impact, is that at all important to this discussi discussion . You heard the mans word linkage, look at the hong kong human rights and democracy act, what it does it brings us back to where we were in 1999. Human rights is linked to everything in china. Before 2000 china was up for an annual review of the human rights record, it did not get most favored nation trade status, it did not get turf release if it did not pass the human rights review under the new law we see that hong kong must be reviewed annually. David it still a bill because the president has decided will he sign it . Its expected that he would sign it, look at the calculus, we have vetoproof majority that passed unanimously in the senate. The president does not want to get on the wrong side of the senate for many reasons. We hit a record high on the dow and continue to do so and the expansion is wonderful and stocks are claiming hi, its great for investors. You mentioned it does not hit companies, can you way in with the tenure lot and were not seen the investments when it comes to equipment with companies. There is something that is bothering them. They all want certainty. I would suggest theres a great case to be made if you want certainty make the tariffs permanent and then they can invest in america. Apple is bringing back jobs to texas. Let me followup, quickly on the idea of making tariffs permanent. Just this week the port of los angeles where the study said tariffs, existing tears are costing 1. 8 billion in Economic Activity and risking up to one and a half million jobs, is it your explanation that the tariffs are benefiting the u. S. Economy and we should keep them, are the tariffs helping the u. S. Economy . In my estimation they are helping the u. S. Economy. The u. S. Became the greatest power on earth we have much higher tears than we do now. It was after the tariffs were removed on 2000 when we sell the drina manufacturing jobs in the growing inequality and growing deficits because of no tax revenues, you dont have jobs in factories and nobody pain pain. David you think china is plain politics, they know our election is coming up in the study it domestically, are they playing politics and do they think they can get a better deal with the democratic ministration. Absolutely all they have to do is watch the democratic debates and Kamala Harris promising to get rid of tariffs and Everybody Knows china is waging the trade war. [inaudible] we have to leave it at that. Great to see you. Remember the disastrous tesla rollout, take a look. Maybe that was a little too hard. David it looks like elon musk may get the last laugh.
