We are in times of volatility and we will continue to stay there and investors are starting to look at what companies are actually good at managing through volatility not just in this share price but also related to liquidity, exchange, who does a good job in what sector so you may have some sectors such as pharmas and tech who can do really well in the areas and still get hurt by internal volatility reflected in Foreign Exchange markets. Jon, a couple of things here, first off the jarome comments did nothing especially talking about the labor market and also, jon, you the comments from treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin that more payments, more stimulus could be on the way to u. S. Economy and that did not help despite mnuchins statements . Jon a couple of things, one is mixed messages that we are getting from policymakers and the market having trouble digesting whats good news and bad news. Is the markets reacting to things that are getting worse or Interest Rates are going to be low in the second thing is worries that this coronavirus isnt going away and its coming back and its going to be an impediment. The economy, im interested to wolfgang has to say. Cheryl wolfgang, respond to that. I think its worrisome on what we already know about the coronavirus. The mixed message of getting clarity are we going to stay in lower Interest Rate environment or go into a higher rate environment, quite frankly inflationary and what youre seeing is investors are looking more as inflationary environment. Again, i think that we are seeing a lot of investors looking at individual stocks as we are seeing and then locking looking how they actually manage this through liquidity point of view, how they can actually activate liquidity and use it the best on uncertain Economic Times which we will see for a while. Cheryl we are still going to be lower for week despite the fact that you have the nasdaq blow above 10,000, and thats the tech story. There are stocks that are really worth looking at. We know that technology has been outperforming this entire bull market. We have just a concentration of largest market Tech Companies in tech, we have a huge influence on it. I do agree with wolfgang. Zoom, i wouldnt go near with somebody elses money, its way too overvalueed. Cheryl mattie, the biggest concern here is what the economic recovery will look like and Jarome Powell was not optimistic about the jobs market earlier, mattie. Mattie thats right, cheryl, im surprised the market tanked 2 days after the comments. Chairman said that we will be heavy Market Conditions for the next couple of years potentially and real quick to wolfgang, because we saw volatility in the Retail Investor space, are those tech names still a good buy like lou said or places where you are looking to put money . Tech as well as the farmas, but, again, you to look for companies specifically and the value and the way they are looking at liquidity and managing that and the ones that historically done well and another one that wasnt named earlier like google, they know how to manage through volatility and thats part of what you have to look for. You cant just look at the trend like everybody is looking at zoom and your points on, highly valued stock. At the end of the day as i said to customers, you look have customers that have low volatility within management programs and i think thats very important because its reflective of how the entire company is being managed through the uncertain times. Cheryl maybe companies will start giving us forecast wolfgang. Great to have you on the show, thank you, sir. My pleasure. Cheryl the risk of resurgence, the nation bracing for a possible second wave of Coronavirus Infections as new hot spots emerge in states that have reopened and florida is going to be one to watch. Jacksonville will host President Trump for the Rnc Convention promising full crowds and no coronavirus restrictions. This comes as Florida Governor ron desantis says Public Schools will open at full capacity in august. Joining me jennifer caudl, full convention without restrictions, does that worry you . It does, any mass event happening around this time anywhere in the country honestly is concerning to me. This is something that myself and many of my colleagues were concerned about, the idea as time goes on, as we start opening up and things like that we start to see resurgence in cases and one of my questions is is this a resurgence in cases that we are seeing in different parts of the country or had they just not gotten hit yet but either way we need to be very cautious, this virus has not gone away yet. Cheryl let me ask you this about florida because testing increased by 37 over the last few weeks but confirmed cases have risen 28 . Doesnt it make sense that if youre going to do more testing you will get more cases . It does, absolutely, but, you know, theres a lot of variables that have gone along with that. Certainly we are testing more and thats a natural given. Anywhere that youre testing more you will have more cases because youre able to find them but, you know, in many parts of the country the country has opened up as well, so another variable is we dont know how much opening the country has sort of impacted that and allowed transition to happen, we also know that recently weve had protests as well. How much has that played a role . Theres a number of valuables playing a role and why we have increase number of cases. Thats why i said regardless of the reasoning, underlying reasoning i think the message is clear here. Coronavirus has not gone away. Its here. It has the capacity to increase and in fact, doing that in some places. Cheryl i know in arizona, jennifer, its the Younger Generation thats coming up with more positive tests, those that maybe werent social distancing and arent worried about getting sick. I will ask you about blood type, can blood type be a factor to immunity and theres a study from 23 me, 0 blood time 8 to 9 less likely to contract it. Its not the first time that we have seen blood type implemented to coronavirus, type a and type b associated with greater risk. Type a has been associated with respiratory failure, thats what youre referring to. This is not a new concept. Its not definitive. This is adding to knowledge of coronavirus in general on how blood type and genetics play a role. Really interesting to see how this sort of shakes up. The whole casone family is looking at their blood types. Dr. Jennifer caudle, appreciate it. Thank you. Cheryl major rally underway, what is driving markets . Plus the sopranos secret . The fate of tony soprano making a buzz this morning. Incomparable design makes it beautiful. State of the Art Technology makes it brilliant. The lexus nx experience the crossover in its most visionary form. Experience amazing at your lexus dealer. Cheryl demonstrations raging across seattle, protestors swarming the capitol hill neighborhood taking over city hall and forcing Police Precincts to close, seattle mayor Neither Police chief plan to resign but President Trump speaking to Harris Faulkner yesterday indicated he may step in. If there were more toughness, you wouldnt have the kind of devastation that you had in minneapolis and in seattle. We all see whats going on in seattle. If they dont straighten the situation out, we will straighten it out. We will not let seattle be occupied by anarchist. Cheryl mattie, do you think the president needs to step in and deal with the situation in seattle . We dont quite know what the circumstances are. This is really the first wear hearing. No other media is talking about whats happening in seattle which i think is shocking so we dont know the full story there. I will say that this is one of the circumstances where i would really like to see the president take a step back and not get ahead of himself with the tweeting and the comments he makes about seattle. This is the same day hes announcing what could be very substantial reforms to policing on the federal level, thats where he should be concentrating his efforts and not talking about seattle. Its interesting that the precinct was abandoned. Seattle needs to understand the circumstances there. The president he has a lot going on right now. Hes trying to show leadership role when it comes to divisions that are happening in the country. He should be focusing efforts there. Jon hilsenrath, you have to wonder if its about politics, liberal politics. I will say, mattie, to your point, former colleagues were attacked in seattle for another network, they are covering the story maybe not enough. Jon, again, this is liberal politics, maybe at its worse, letting the folks just run ramp it, take over a city . Jon well, you know, i want to talk actually about the economics of some of this and how it might relate to the politics, you know, theres a political argument going on right now that whether americas are dysfunctional, when you look at minneapolis, new york or seattle and what i want to say is some of them are reacting right now in dysfunctional ways and looks like they are seeing that in seattle but a lot of American Cities have actually had a great run over the last 10 years. Seattle is among them. When you look at where growth was happening, where Economic Activity was happening, where jobs were being created, its cities like seattle, durham, North Carolina, austin, texas, its been in places that are red and that are blue and its because the cities attract a lot of tech work and a lot of highend services. Cheryl well, you know what, jon, let me jump in because i want to get lou before we go to break. Where is big tech, where is boeing and major employers in seattle, why arent they speaking up . I disagree with mattie, its idiotic idea to create autonomous zones and let the spread. Its not something that we can have spread to other cities and creates civil unrest. Police officer said the Response Time to 911 calls has tripled, we cant have that. We need law and order and need everyone to be local instead of sitting back on their heels. Cheryl because even here in blue new york they finally brought in the nypd to stop what was happening in our city. Back on the campaign trail, find out where President Trump and former Vice President joe biden are going to be off to next. Plus game on, the play station 5 makes debut, see which game is hitting hitting the console first. Cheryl welcome back, im Cheryl Casone in for Maria Bartiromo. It is friday, its june 12th, top stories at 6 30 a. M. Eastern time. Futures are rallying looking to gain back some of yesterdays heavy losses. Nice to see the numbers, the dow is up 583 in premarket, s p up 57 and a quarter, nasdaq up 154 and change. This after concerns over spikes in coronavirus cases and what it could mean to the economic recovery fueling a major selloff for the markets yesterday. We lost more
