Earnings last week and announcement after four for one stock split. We have microsoft higher on a possible tiktok acquisition. We have fox Business Team coverage. Blake burman with the latest from the white house. Edward lawrence from washington. Well start with blake. Reporter hi, there, jackie and david. A lot of the action up on capitol hill there was just a twohour meeting behind closed doors between the top four negotiators to figure out a way through relief talks. Treasury secretary Steve Mnuchin and chief of staff mark meadows and House Speaker nancy pelosi and Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer. After that mnuchin walked out of the meeting and went over to Mitch Mcconnells office to Top Republican in the senate and to brief him on the discussion. This is their readout afterwards. A lot of focus discussed on schools. Chuck schumer said we went through the numbers in person that the senate put in and proposal we have, how many children can you feed with this amount of dollars for how long . How many schools can you protect for this amount of dollars so they can open up. You know our proposals are a lot more generous. That was schumers readout afterwards. Earlier today President Trump suggested that if there are not, if there is not any sort of deal that negotiators can come up with, if there is not legislative action taken at some point then he could put forth executive orders. President seemed to draw a hardline against giving money to states. Listen. They want bailout money. Theyre not interested in the people. They are not interested in unemployment. Theyre not interested in evictions which is a big deal, the evictions, they want to evict, a lot of people will be evicted but i will stop it, i will do it myself if i have to, i have a lot of powers with respect to executive orders. Reporter jackie, david, afterwards when Chuck Schumer was speaking to reporters, he said following of the negotiations, were guesting an understanding of each sides position. That doesnt seem like it is democrats and republicans inching to the finish line. At this point with all many days of talks theyre just getting to understand each sides position. Seems like there could be a long way to go before some sort of deal is reached. Jackie it sure does. Blake burman, thank you so much. David. David President Trump slamming speaker of the house nancy pelosi and senator Chuck Schumer on wanting to bail out cities beforehand link the covid19 stimulus relief. Take a listen. President trump look what Chuck Schumer wants more than anybody, i would say nancy pelosi would be second, they want to bail out cities and states that have done a bad job over a long period of time. Nothing to do with coronavirus or china virus or whatever you want to call it. They want to bail out cities, they want bail out money. They want a trillion dollars in bail out money. David here now is charlie hurt. He is the Washington Times opinion editor and a fox news contributor. Charlie, before we talk about the states bailout or pelosis desire for one, dont we still have over a trillion dollars from previous coronavirus bills that have yet to be spent . Yes, indeed we do and of course i think President Trump understands better than anybody in washington that in the long run the most popular, the most successful solution here is to do whatever it takes to get the economy going again and just throwing money at various props, youre just, all you will do is run out of money and rack up more debt. None of it work unless you figure out a way, unless they figure out a way to jumpstart the economy and get the economy growing in a dynamic, vibrant way. David my point, weve already got this money online, money that all sides agreed to spend and before we talk about, i know it is a novel thought but before we talk about going more in debt than we already are, how about spending money already been allocated . No, absolutely, absolutely. But i think at this point. This is part of the problem that President Trump faces and republicans face. Theyre not arguing with people that i think are terribly honest brokers. Chuck schumer and nancy pelosi, what theyre looking for right now, theyre looking for political posturing and they have figured out that this political posturing where they can hold up anything that they can hold up in order to pin blame for the pandemic and the economic collapse on republicans, on President Trump, they think that is a big winner in november and theyre probably right. That is why the most important thing that President Trump can do and republicans can do is do whatever it takes to jumpstart the economy, and to turbo charge this recovery so that we dont wind up with one of these, you know, eight year barack obama malaise recoveries that nobody ever feels. David charlie, that is what the president is trying to do. You know, the gop and the senate and the house dont have the same kind of gumption that he does to hold the line. Im wondering on this particular issue of states and cities because i think it is true, a lot of that trillion dollars that nancy pelosi wants for the states and the cities involve bailing them out for things that happened long before the virus ever caused economic problems. But im wondering if the gop and senate and house will have the gumption to hold the line on that issue . I think weve seen throughout the years that President Trump is not, he is not afraid of any of this stuff. It is why so many people find him so appealing. Of course professional politicians on capitol hill, theyre terrified of things like this but i think quite frankly all of this ultimately goes back to the state and local Tax Deductions fight that democrats obviously lost on and i think those democrats in congress will do anything to try to get that back and that is why were seeing them fight for these, for these bailouts now for state governments and local governments to david that might be the compromise, the compromise point theyre positioning for. I have to ask, quickly before we go, charlie, steve moore wrote a piece in the journal today suggesting that the president through an executive order could essentially without going through the rigmarole how he would do it, executive order to cut the payroll tax cut is possible. He could enact it by executive order. Any chance of that happening . I think its probably i do think that he would have to bring republicans on capitol hill along and i think that would be a real problem because again they are very scared of doing anything that is in any way dramatic but what kind of a weird situation is it that its a radical idea that people would be allowed to keep the money that they earned especially in a crisis like that . David right. Like the one were in the middle of . That should be the first thing that federal lawmakers go to. The idea that people can keep the money that they earn at least until we get through this crisis passes. David by the way, nancy pelosi says it is just for rich people. In fact according to steve moore, it would be capped at 75,000. 75,000 and less would get payroll tax cut if in fact president decides he goes that route. Charlie hurt, great to see you. Thank you, charlie. Thank you. Jackie a significant announcement. The federal Aviation Administration releasing the preliminary review of propositioned changes to boeings trouble some 737 max. Lets go to he had lawrence live in washington with the details on that. Edward . Reporter this is one extent closer to the 737 max jets getting in the air. The faa released a preliminary summary and in that preliminary summary i had said this, through a thorough and transparent process, the faa plim narrowly changes to the 737 design and flight crew and airplane procedures effectively mitigate the issues that contributed to the 610 and flight 302 accident. Boeing says that the production of the 737 has been cut by a third because of this. Their cfo actually says that they can deliver all of the parked 737s in 2021 should the plane get certified to fly. In a statement boeing says this related to faa. It says quote, were continuing to make steady progress towards the safe return to service. Working closely with the faa and global regulators. While we still have a lot of work in front of us this is an important milestone in the certification process. There are still other certification processes to go through. Calling for 100 Remote Learning chicago teachers protesting return to the classroom just weeks before the start of the school year. Grady trimble is on the scene with the details. Grady. Reporter david, the Chicago School district proposed online and in person classroom experience to start the school year. Teachers had other plans. They took to the streets with other protest es, clogging the road and honking their horns sending a message to city hall. Saying they dont want to return to classroom just yet. They wont be comfortable doing it. Instead the Chicago Teachers Union has other demands. 100 remote classes. Free computers for all students and Internet Access for all students. She says her kids will be going back to School Virtually to start the year. She wanted them to go back to school in person. She even asked them what they would prefer. Both kids right away, we want to go back to school, no doubt, no questions asked. We want to see our classroom, we want to see our teacher. We want to see all our friends. We need instruction from the teacher. We need to know the teacher. Reporter the Chicago Teachers Union hasnt said whether a strike is on the table. Two other unions in the state of illinois representing about a quarter of a million teachers have said that striking, if they dont feel safe, is an option. David. David you wonder where all the money for all those computers would come from even if it did pan out and i guess chicago really doesnt have that cash right now. Grady, thank you very much. Jackie say goodbye to those extra quarantine pounds. I wish it was that simple. This gym in california taking the workout experience outdoors to avoid state shutdown orders. Here is sirius fitness owner sandy duval. Thank you for joining us. You are taking a unique approach to gettings open for business and tell us about the program you designed and how folks are taking to it. We just celebrated our 25th anniversary. Then this happened. We were shut down once, then twice. We made all the safety protocols. This time i agree with the cdc, we do need to do this outside all the science says. So i collaborated with a Company Called ces here that builds floats and big stages for concerts, you name it. We collaborated together. And came up with a great 2000 square footworkout space. Jackie it looks amazing. I wonder if people are still scared or eager to get back into the routine, saying i will try this, working out outside can be fun . You know i think it depends on the type of gym work. Kind of a small, we have a small gym. Were a specialty gym. So, yes, but were taking all of those safety protocols for them. Were making those decisions. Were operating on about a quarter of the capacity that we were. You know, we closed down for about four to five hours during the day for deep cleaning and, you have to wear masks, temperatures. So i mean there is a protocol. Some people like it, some people dont. Jackie i can imagine. A lot of folks will stay here in new york city, being outside, especially when it is really hot out it is difficult to wear the mask even walking around. I can only imagine lifting weights or doing aerobic activity. The masks help to help persontoperson especially if there is a trainer or instructor there, right . Also indoor, we have another facility where we do indoor classes. It is difficult when youre indoors to breathe but, it is not that bad outdoors. It is a little hot here in california. That is why were shutting down during the afternoons. I think it is doable. I think it is very important for people to stay healthy especially this time. Jackie oh, absolutely. Let me ask you this, as i walk the streets of new york, i see restaurants, limited Capacity Seating outside, i wonder when i say they have got 10 tables there, i know they would be doing a lot more business indoor, if it is even, you know, worth it for them, to a certain extent to stay open at this time . I know people want to get back and want to sort of, you know, establish these routines. It is important to bring your employees back as well. But from a business perspective, are you
