Look, were slated to double our deficit in a time with no war, no recession, so they keep on saying and essentially full employment. What are we spending the money on . The American Rescue plan was an American Economic destructive plan. Prices are up 16 since Biden Took Office and real wages are down something north of 5 , the average american has lost 20 of their purchasing power. They are 20 poorer. This election is about the economy and donald trump can run on his economy, right, because wages increased, real Family Income increased by 6,400 for an average household. Under biden, they lost 4,000. Thats not including regulatory costs. Donald trump can win running on the economy because bidenomics has polled worse than any economy since jimmy carter. Maria people are really upset having to pay all this money for stuff. Inflation is a problem. I will point out that wages have begun to rise, last couple of months, and they are now outpacing the level of inflation. But overall when you look at wages under joe biden, theyre down on his watch. He mentioned restoring the American Dream. Okay. When i think of the American Dream i think about quality of life, i think about us as americans having the highest standard of living of any country in the world. But then you start to kind of go through home ownership. Thats something we pride ourselves on. Home ownership is the most unaffordable its ever been because of high Property Values and high mortgage rates. We talked about wages. We saw negative real wage growth for like 26 or 27 straight months. And then they say what about savings, everyone has more in savings. Thats not true either. For the bottom 16 of earners they have less in savings at justed for inflation today than they did prepandemic. Things are not going well unless you have smoke and mirrors clouding things up. Maria partly because theyre tapping into savings to pay for these things. And credit cards. Maria outsize in terms of price. And theyre tapping into retirement accounts. This is a challenge for most americans. Its very challenging. Were on an unsustainable path. Its easy for President Biden to take a victory lap, talking about adding jobs and things like that.
