FBC Kudlow July 3, 2024

Earlier this afternoon, not once did he mention the word iran but were stowing going to get to that in a second with my great friend bret baier. Lets get to the latest own israelhamas war what is happening on the ground. Correspondent mike to be ben is live in tel aviv. What can you tell us . Reporter a couple takeaways from the president s speech that resonated in israel that the u. S. Is increasing force posture in the region and ready to supply israel with everything it needs to defend itself. The shortly after the speech i was randomly approached by a stranger here in tel aviv who says israel appreciates the u. S. The skirmishes continue. When the sun goes down the rockets go up, interceptors go up in the sky to meet them. We have video from the town of ashkelon, on the northern end of the gaza trip which is subject to so much violence in recent days. The round of rockets that came over to ashkelon, was provided by a warning from hamas the rockets were coming. The rockets came. The interceptors went up after them. No word on casualties. There was fighting in ashkelon, gunman slipped through a security perimeter laid down by Israeli Forces or possibly he was left behind. The gunman was contacted by Israeli Forces in the town of ashkelon. No word if that gunman was killed. In the president s speech today, the number of americans killed out here is 14. The number of them presumed to be kidnapped cannot be pinned down. We spoke members of for people who were kidnapped and they are terrified. They were fish in a barrel, sitting in this bomb shelter. Terrorists came to the door. They were throwing grenades in and shooting machine guns and we know that hirschs arm from the elbow down was severed. As grenades were being thrown in, they were tossing them back out. They were trying to comfort people. Reporter the air Campaign Continues over the gaza strip or into the gaza strip with unprecedented strength and devastation into this area, densely populated with civilians. The area from which hamas picked this fight. The area to which israel is spending. On the edges of the Gaza Strip Israeli armor, Israeli Forces ready to begin the ground invasion. We know tonight that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with his security cabinet in israels version of the pentagon here in tel aviv. Well see what comes out of that meeting, if indeed that will start the tanks rolling for this anticipated ground offensive. Larry . Larry mike tobin, thank you ever so much from tel aviv. We appreciate it. All right, folks, now at last count the hamas, hezbollah, iranian barbarians, killed 1000 israelis. 14 americans included in that maybe more. That number will keep moving. Babies found beheaded, grannies pulled out of bed and murdered, entire families massacred. It is like a something out of middle ages as bad or worse than anything isis did. I must say tragically President Joe Biden addressed the nation tonight, this afternoon with one of the most disappointing speeches i have ever heard. Of course the attack in israel was evil. Yes, americans have been killed and taken hostage. Yes, the toll on israel is heart breaking and yes, the United States will stand with israel and supply them with military assistance but these promises after the more risk hamas attack are almost cliches at this point. The question is, the real question is, what is joe biden going to do about this catastrophe . What policy changes will the United States make to combat the iranianfunded weaponized and planning behind the hamas attack . What joe biden has to do is completely reverse his failed iran policy. Stop appeasing and playing footsie and cozying up to iran. Forget about the terrible nuclear deal and recognize the Biden Administration has been financing irans war machine. Here are some facts. The 6 billion released by south korea may be aimed at humanitarian assistance but money is fungible and it will provide breathing room for other accounts to promote war and terrorism. The same can be said for the 10 billion released by iraq. Then incredibly the u. S. Dominated imf has provided 6. 7 billion to iran. Really . What is that about . My friend chris gorgiva should be ashamed of herself. The biden relaxation on economic sanctions, most particularly Oil Sanctions added another 30 to 40 billion of Financial Assistance to iran to bolster their war chest. The total comes to 50 or 60 billion. This insanity must be stopped. Recall, please, in the tough sanctions imposed by former President Donald Trump Iran Oil Production was less than a Million Barrels a day. Today it is above 3 Million Barrels per day headed for four at oil prices ranging from 80 to 100 barrel. Maybe a small discount to their biggest purchaser china, thats no good. Then we dont know how much money iran is making shipping drones to russia but we do know that the United States has stopped impounding the shipping vessels iran uses to circumvent sanctions. We have note denied iranian planes overflight rights. We have not closed iranian banks with access to the west, nor have we stopped iranian operations of european businesses. Why arent we treating iranian officials like they are and sinking Iranian Naval boats that threaten International Shipping . From this i want to give a hat tip to senator Mitch Mcconnell. His very fine wall street journal oped piece mentioned all of that today. Look, if you cut off iran and drip cripple its economy, and stop its oil flows and end its financing then you will truly help israel by dealing a death blow to hamas resources. Iran is the hamas supply line, got it . Why didnt mr. Biden talk about that today . If he pledges undying support for israel he must unequivocally stop iran but that four letter word, iran, had his delayed truncated address. Trump understood the difference between strength and weakness. Trump pulled out of misbegotten obama iranian nuke deal. Trump took out baghdadi all of isis in syria. Trump look out soleimani, the number one bad guy in iran. You think that sent a message to iran . Of course it did did. Trump laid down tough economic sanctions and basically stopped their Oil Production and starved their economy. Came the Abraham Accords negotiated peace deals with israel, regarding trade, investment and in effect mr. Trump was surrounding iran with all these abraham accord peace deals. The entire political dynamic of region was changed. During trumps tenure there was no massive hamas invasion of israel. Why cant the bidens learn these lessons. There is a difference between strength and weakness. And that is my riff. Enough said. Joining me now, my great friend and colleague bret baier, anchor of special report tonight. Author of rescue the constitution, George Washington and the fragile american experiment available everywhere today. Got to sell some books. Bret baier got me through the predebate 15person thing with style and content as you always do, brett. Welcome to the set as always, sir. You know, you cant help israel without slamming iran and changing the policy. Thats my take. What you think . Yeah i think its right on. A strong letter to follow, larry. You know i think you nailed it as far as the criticism and you know they are hung up, the Biden Administration is, on the criticism about the six billion dollars for the hostage, the american Hostage Exchange but it is not the six billion dollars. They say not a penny, not a dean far has been removed from that account. Not about that. It is what you talked about, releasing, relaxing of sanctions to the point of you look at oil exports just to china, 2020, 6. 6 billion. 2021, 23. 1 billion. 2022, 30 billion. Iran exports to china. Larry those are great numbers. I have to get my paws on those numbers. That is what youre talking about. It is not this whole thing about the hostage that is a factor, iran has a factor i have six billion coming in i can do something with Something Else but it is really what youre talking about here. The fact the president didnt mention iran, tells you all you need to know, they are defending this iran policy which really funnels money to hamas and hezbollah. Larry i see it as iran is the supply line toe hamas. There wouldnt be no major invasion if it not for iran. I dont understand, you talked to kirby this morning about this. Were hearing from jake sullivan. I do not understand how you can be israels friend and really help israel as the majority of american thinking wants to help israel, our great ally, the only democracy in the entire region, you cant do that unless you go after iran i dont mean bomb iran but you have economic sanctions, Oil Sanctions, business sanctions. I mean i got to give credit, Mitch Mcconnell wrote a very good, toughs at kel today in the wall street journal. Dont know if you saw it. Yeah i did. Larry a couple paragraphs what we should be doing to restore sanctions. Where are the sanctions . Why wont the bidens do that, bret baier. They defended saying sanctions are still there but theyre not enforcing them. You can have them there but theyre not enforcing them. I think it is a big, big issue. I talked to the Saudi Crown Prince over in saudi arabia. They said they were close to normalization. I talked to the israeli Prime Minister. They said they were really close. Offcamera both men said it is going to get done. I think the closer they talked about it, the more iran, hamas, hezbollah, wanted to screw it up. Larry do you think those talks continue . They do. Im told larry saudis wont start shifting they put out a statement as propalestinian at the beginning, how they usually say the palestinians need to be helped but now it is involved theyre really concerned about civilian cab wallets. You cant turn your back on the depravity of some of these attacks. It is grew somewhat were seeing larry wee bit of politics. You really need a House Speaker to provide money to israel. What do you think of about that story . Kevin mccarthy is coming on in a few moments. What do you think about this story . I think he is still in the mix. I think he can be the default choice or the be the kingmaker probably jim jordan. It is i think you will have a speaker vote that coalesces because of the urgency of the moment over in the middle east and people see that as a big moment. You could even have Problem Solver democrats say, im going to throw my hat, my vote one way to try to move this thing quicker. Because i think everybody realizes that you need to do stuff as a congress in order to have that happen. You have to have a House Speaker. Larry one other question, i want to get to the constitution in a minute. I love selling books. Thank you, larry, your books have been great sellers down through the years. You were great on the radio show this weekend but the southern border is still a gigantic problem. We can talk about terrorism in the middle east and so forth, so on, but a lot of that stuff is creeping through the southern border. Kevin mccarthy gave a speech about that but i wonder what you were thinking . I do not hear the bidens ever talk about the southern border. No. Today bill melugin along that border got a document shows where people are coming from, coming across that border. Thousands and thousands from countries we consider foy meanting fomenting terrorism, afghanistan, all throughout the middle east and they are getting across that border and the numbers are just going exponentially up. So the threat there and terrorist watch list, the people who have been on the terrorist watch list has increased in recent months. So thats a major threat and mccarthy is right to talk about that. Larry yeah he is. Meanwhile to rescue the constitution, George Washington and the fragile american experiment out today, i read the intro. I have not read the book yet. I will plow through the book because i love history. George washington was almost, if its possible he was an underrated figure. I know he is the father of the country but regarding this constitution you dont think of George Washington. You think of hamilton, madison, some of the others but not necessarily washington. Yeah so, these books, this is the fifth president ial book that ive written. I try to look at a soda straw moment and focus on that in narrative form and show hue the leader gets to the moment. The soda straw moment is the constitutional convention. Washington is recruited to be the head keep a lot of people together. A lot of people dont remember or dont know after the u. S. , the forces win against the british then the country falls apart and its a lot of people say they want to go back to british rule. It would be easier. Constitutional convention happens. George washington holds people together. Obviously becomes the first president. Nobody was writing a note on the oval office note for him. Nobody was passing ther to much. He was really the torch. This fills in the blanks. Larry would woe we have done without washington . We wouldnt be a country. Larry you hate to say it history sometimes revolves around great men. Thats right. Larry it is an old theory in history but it is an important history. We have a lot to learn from that time. We could use a washington right now. Ive been around a long time, i just miss the washington era, i just miss. I came back. Promise me if i do another 15 Guest Program i will be there. You did fantastic with breaks and everything. Larry bret baier, special report weeknights 6 00 p. M. Own fox news. Pick up the book book to rescue the constitution, George Washington and the fragile american experiment. One click. Thank you, bret, ever so much. Coming up the aforementioned Kevin Mccarthy gave a blockbuster speech yesterday. I think it is the kind of speech joe biden should have given today.
