But the humanitarian aid to the west bank in gaza is a pig red line that big red line that no american should support. Theres no way the United States can guarantee that money is not going to go directly into hamas coffers. President biden can make any promises he wants but we know how it works. We know how it works with ukraine. We know how it works with israel. Floss way for the u. S. To seriously monitor where our funds are going and how theyre being used. Its a big red line, americans should not support it. Maria its interesting, as we learn that it was actually the palestinians who bombed that hospital. I mean, it amazing to me that s talking about the aid. Thats where this is going. All the aid must be contingent on getting those civilians that want to declare themselves civilians and not combatants into egypt. This is whereby den must use the pow where biden must use the power of the purse, not just the aid we give to egypt every year, especially what biden specifically released after the Trump Administration held it, on top of that, use the imf, use the fact that egypt has a 30 inflation rate,. Any aid the u. S. Sends to palestine, whether in the west bank or in gaza should be completely contingent on the return of all hostages. Maria right. And the fact that biden has not clearly stipulated that is a problem. Maria i dont understand why hes not talking about the hostages. You need something in order to give that money. All the cease fire declarations, obviously biden is bucking the far left of his party but they are too silent on the hostages. That should be order number one, release the hostages and Everything Else can come later. Israel is able to ride this thing out. They turned on limited water in Southern Gaza because they want to get people away from the border so they can do more air strikes which is crucial but gaza doesnt have a selfsustaining economy. The blockade which people are discovering was not anything more than a weapons blockade the last 16 years, the real blockade, all theyre doing is riding them out. Eventually gaza will have to bend to israel in some capacity. If we take a step back and look at the situation more broadly, heres where i think we screwed up. We have believed for years you now that we know our adversary, that we know our enemies and because we value life and freedom that everybody else does too. Well, thats not true. They value the after life. I mean, theres videos of school age palestinians say they want to grow up and become suicide bombers. Thats their goal. They want to elimin eliminate t. Yeah, maria, i think the number one job of the United States department of defense right now is to deter iran from participating in an overt way with hezbollah, those in the west bank or down in gaza. We know that theyre covertly supporting all of those air wrist organizations those terrorist organizations in those areas so its not anything that we can question. It is without doubt that iran is behind all of this and why the president refuses to mention iran is really a mystery. And i know that they want to keep the pipes open to the iran nuclear deal. I know there are sympathizers within dod and state, some call them spies from iran, but its really not a wise move. He needs to take on iran directly and message that we understand that theyre behind this and get them to back off and that will allow some other things to flow, like the aid thats hes talking about down in gaza and so forth. So its all about having some muscle in there. Hopefully to match the messaging program where we can tell iran to back down. Maria its a great point. Tiana, this administration will not connect the dots to iran and the president wont mention iran. Clearly, the criticism is coming from a vacuum. Biden has always been somewhat compromised by the iranians, we know the administration has had espionage within it from iran and still to date refusing to admit that money is fungible, that the amount of reserves that we have passed over to the iranians was used in part to subsidize this attack. We know that hamas met with iranians in beirut in order to sign off on this so not only just with regards to the iranians but also the wild card of lebanon and hezbollah, how much more do we risk a northern incursion from hezbollah into the west bank, into israels northern border and how much of this could theoretically be stopped by biden taking it to i tehran and renewing more sanctions . Yeah, so i agree with all of that and i think one of the things that we should do is message, as i said, but you know also we call them flexible deterrence options. We can fly some jets off the aircraft carrier, we can get some helicopters doing patrols and maneuvers in the area and we can do something more forceful and match that with a messaging campaign and the other thing is the 6 billion that was unfrozen and some of the other moneys that have been unfrozen, let iran take care of gaza. Theyre providing their weapons, they have logistics and supply routes. Let them push some food and water and medical supplies in there too.
