Despite this, the FBI wants Arkansans to know that they are still protected against these crimes. “A crime committed against an individual because of their race, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity,” said William Kennedy, FBI Special Agent. The FBI is offering a one-hour session class to anyone to explain procedures and policies of reporting a hate crime. “Anybody, any group, any organization can contact us and request that we come out and host this training,” Kennedy said. He added that the goal is to educate, “To educate the public on what is and what is not a hate crime.”
