Yazoo The two winter storms that came through the state in February made roads impassable for days and sent water systems offline due to the freezing temperatures. In Jackson, systems at the O.B. Curtis Water Treatment Plant were affected for days and warmer temperatures after the freeze caused more than 100 water main breaks and other leaks. The outage affected all 43,000 water connections on the system, which includes residents in Byram, forcing residents to find bottled and nonpotable water to drink, bathe and flush toilets for weeks.
