Clear skies in downtown Cleveland, Ohio.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Sunday was Mother’s Day, but it appears Mother Nature was in a foul mood.
Sunday’s high in Cleveland was 45 ... 24 degrees below normal for the date. There was more than an inch of rain recorded in Cleveland, and there were snow showers mixed in through much of Northeast Ohio, with some sticking to the ground, although briefly.
But a much brighter forecast is ahead for the week, and it begins Monday, with the Weather Service calling for clear skies and plenty of sunshine. It will remain relatively cool, with highs staying in the mid-50s. Patchy frost is expected in the Akron area and it will be chilly overnight as temps dip to around 40 degrees.
