The dog attacks resulted in the death of 12 sheep. Picture: North Dorset Police A dog has been rehomed and its owner fined following attacks on sheep in North Dorset. The dog attacked sheep in the Bedchester area several times and two of those attacks resulted in the death of 12 sheep. Local people wanted to shoot the dog, said a spokesperson for the police: "The attacks had a significant impact on the local community, with persons actively looking to take matters into their own hands and shoot the dog involved." Officers worked with the family and an animal rescue centre to get the dog rehomed with an appropriate and responsible owner in another part of the country, to be kept away from livestock.
