Fink said in a statement from his office, âLaw-abiding individuals carrying knives for work and recreation should not be subject to the ordinances of multiple jurisdictions throughout Michigan. We need to ensure well-intending people arenât cornered into unknowingly breaking the law while going about their daily lives.â He pointed to the example of spring-assisted knifes which became legal under a 2017 state law but many local ordinances continue to ban them.
