View Comments A barn fire Saturday evening at the MSU Dairy Cattle and Teaching Research Center filled the sky with smoke but resulted in no injuries to people or livestock. Ingham County Central Dispatch received a report around 7:45 p.m. of a fire at 4075 College Road on the campus of Michigan State University. When first responders arrived, a feed barn amid 12 silos was ablaze. The silos feed corn and other grains into the feed barn. MSU Police Capt. Chris Rozman said 10 Greater Lansing fire departments responded to the scene, mostly with water tankers because there are a limited number of fire hydrants in the rural area.
