Fire at Lake Hartwell on Providence Church Road
A fire is burning near Lake Hartwell Wednesday afternoon, fueled by strong winds from an approaching cold front.
Video from Sky 4 showed light white smoke in the area.
“There is a red flag-burning ban with the state and this wind and the humidity is not good for burning at all this time of year," Lt. Scott Covert, with the Williford Fire Department, said. "The fires are going to spread easy and they’re harder to control, with the wind off the lake, especially down here.”
