Premium Content Subscriber only Swift water technicians have rescued a woman clinging to trees after she was washed off the road at a notorious Walkerston floodway The woman was reportedly yelling for help as she clung to the trees at Burkes Crossing on Pugsley St. Emergency services responded to the incident about 10.40pm, with off-duty firefighters first on scene. The woman was pulled to safety about 10.50pm, and was assessed by paramedics at the scene. Police have closed Burkes Crossing with the boom gates lowered to stop traffic. Motorists are urged to drive to the conditions and not drive through floodwaters.
