View Comments A couple storms in northeast Wayne County resulted in localized flash flooding, causing basements to flood again before they fully recovered from the last storm. A "20-minute downpour" caused several inches to accumulate, according to a Facebook post. The National Weather Service radar estimated between 1 to 2 inches of rain accumulation from the northeast corner of Detroit, the southern portion of Harper Woods, into Grosse Pointe Farms, said Steve Considine, a meteorologist in NWS's White Lake office. The storm primarily took place between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The road is "completely flooded" at the intersection of Hillcrest Street and Frankfort Avenue in Detroit, said local resident Anthony Mason.
