The Flint Board of Education unanimously approved the authorization of the testing at the Wednesday, April 21 meeting. The voluntary testing will provide a way for the district to assess students and staff’s COVID-19 status quickly. Students must have permission from their parents or guardian, according to board documents. The tests are being provided through a program with the Genesee Intermediate School District, which oversees acquiring testing for county schools. The tests will be free to the district, staff and students.
