SYDNEY, July 6 (Xinhua) -- As Australia's state of New South Wales (NSW) recorded 18 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, as state authorities prepared to announce their decision on whether or not Sydney will exit lockdown on Friday as scheduled.
Of the 18 cases recorded in the 24 hours to 8 p.m. Monday night, 11 were in complete isolation during their infectious period and a further five were in partial isolation during their infectious period.
"Some cases (that) have been received are quite historic, so people have been exposed in the community for a number of days and that is not what we want to see," said NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian.
