A former care worker serving time in Lackawanna County Prison for filming a developmentally disabled woman she made do humiliating things asked a judge Monday to shorten her sentence or let her serve it at home or on work release. Eileen Dougherty, 40, said the last month that sheâs been in the county jail has been a time of self-reflection and atonement. The real ârock bottomâ came with the realization âthat I had done something so incredibly cruel,â she told President Judge Michael J. Barrasse. âThe woman that stands before you today is one who has been broken and is working every day to build herself into something better,â Dougherty said.
