PLANS for a new activity centre on the banks of the canal in Clydebank are "progressing", according to West Dunbartonshire Council. It is expected that its creation will allow residents and visitors to take advantage of a range of activities at the centre, with the potential to offer bike hire and repair, kayaking and canoeing hire and tuition, a meeting place for clubs and classes and as a small kitchen for healthy snacks. Located next to the canal, it will give residents direct access to the water and also include outdoor storage. The project came about following feedback from the Clydebank charettes which requested more activity brought to the town centre and projects which could make better use of the canal.
