Number two, we know that at the time of this tragedy, that hamas was firing a barrage of rockets at tel aviv and the center of the country. Jesse the idf has just released Surveillance Footage showing a rocket launched towards Israel Igniting Mid Flight and then propelling directly down into gaza. There that is right there. Israel has been very deliberate. I think theyre getting it right before they go in. Theyve been doing the preparation of the battle field, both in terms of intelligence and military preparation. And i think when the time is correct, their intel is correct, and their mission is well defined in relation to the hostages, they will go in. Jesse the flooding of the tunnels does that sound appropriate, or would you go in with men, or would you maybe knock them out with some nonlethal gas . Well, first of all, jesse, we need to make sure that theyre not hiding hostages in those tunnels. If we were to use the tactics, which were well employed by egypt, as you talked about in the past, if we were to use those and not have good intelligence about what is in those tunnels, it could be a problem for us, couldnt it . So i think that what we need to be patient for is israel to under and characterize the battlefield and then they will use the appropriate way to attack the problem. Jesse these idf guys must be chomping at the bit waiting to unleash onto gaza, the clock is ticking. Whats going through their minds right now. So i agree with the general as far as the tunnels go, it could be absolutely catastrophic because you know theyre going to use those. Theyre going to leverage them for Hostage Taking and theyre going to flood them full of hostages. And then fighting in tunnels is a really bad notion. Youve got a loss of control. Theres no real mapping system, and loss of comes go out the window. We are, whether we like it or not, the worlds watch dogs, whether its selfappointed or not, and right now were asleep at the wheel. In order for troops to go in, too, which is horrible again, theyre going to have to soften up ground in order to get a foot hold. And when they soften up ground. Jesse no doubt about that. Breedlove now you have a vip coming to town, coming to tel aviv, us president , you have carriers in the mediterranean. How risky is that situation . Well, its always a risk when you take this level of vip into a war zone. Weve done it before, and so the folks that are going to be taking care of him will be very diligent and be prepared but, as you know, israel was surprised. And now we need to make sure we dont get surprised in the future. I think its really important, though, that this particular vip has given a pretty strident message to iran and others who would meddle in The Middle East and as you opened the top of the hour, you talked about the growing pieces of this conflict with along the boarder of will be felon probably soon and the golan and other places. And so now its time for our vip, as you mentioned, to go and set the world straight about what we are going to do in support of israel. But we fear bidens narcissism is propelling him to take shuttled diplomacy, like a secretary of state, who thrives on the socalled peace process. This is a dangerous game. We hope biden isnt being influenced, like he has been throughout his presidency, by the far left. It is in the interests of every single actor in this region to have a cooling of tensions here. I dont believe that any singular actor wants to see an escalation in violence, an escalation in the volatile, volatility of the situation. Whats important to note about a cease fire is that its not onesided. Israel does have a right to selfdefense. I think what we need to take a look at in this situation is if collective punishment qualifies as defense. Jesse its not in the interest of israel to cool tensions.
