David spot thank you very much. Bryan:
morton out what remains of the hottest
hot button issues
lelike spring and
antjuan democratic strategist
founder and ceo of blueprint strategy. Antjuan, thank you for being here. What sort off of the issue of abortion had a chance because
voter president yesterday for a few minutes before his rally. Earlier this week he suggested he would bow potentially no on the florida pro
abortion amendment that would essentially overturn the six
week abortion ban in the state of florida. Then i asked him about to get some clarity after anger from prolifers and this is what he had to say about the amendment. Are you voting yes or no on amendment four in florida? i think six weeks you need more time than six weeks. I have disagreed with that from the early primaries when he i heardabout i disagreed with i. At the same time the democrats are radical because nine months is just a ridiculous situation. You can do in abortion the ninth month? i'll be voting no for that reason a quick snow i remember for? for that reason. It's radical when you talk about radical having a
baby abort doing in abortion and the ninth month is unacceptable to anybody. Were going to have to do something about that. There is something in between but the six is too short as two short of period and the nine months is unacceptable. Before i went to say the cdc says 94% of abortion that take place in this country happen and it less than 13 weeks. I will eat less a if you aree the members have abortions happen greater than 21 weeks. Putting that aside what you make of him trying to have his cake and eat it too on this issue? he is saying it is too broad. I think the six
week band is too strict. Quickset is just america's new political
duo flip and flop better known as donald trump and
jd vance continue to express themselves on their viewpoints and trust her to make
healthcare decisions and the freedom to do that. And led by women have been responding to the
ballot box. Florida will join nine other states in november they will have the opportunity to have the sayso and reproductive justice,
reproductive freedom and they want to be entrusted to make their
health care decisions for it every time this issue has been on the ballot the american people had their chance to have their say so. I'll see anything happening any differently. Donald trump's words about abortion happening in the ninth month at that ninth hour, however he wants to phrase it is another example of him misrepresenting the facts. Equipment, blacks, whites, everything else in between can have continued to express how they feel about the issue saying just that. Bryan: antjuan can you make this argument flipflopping given where it vice president
kamala harris is on the issue of flipflopping? leave it in the first interview she has still failed to describe exactly where she is on her values. And where she is on these issues it. But that's not necessarily true. In fact that's not true at all. Other than saying her values remain the same. What are her values? take a position you take for example our position on the
climate crisis but how she approaches f her legislative standpoint may be different than where it was before but she is very clear the
climate crisis is real. We have to address it and we had to address that with reasonable
management date certain activities. Were adamant come to the issue of donald trump, reproductive freedom,
reproductive justice. The statement jd vance. I'm not been clear about what will be crystal clear by his supreme court's decision as trump led supreme
court decision on his words in his expression the same with
jd vance for they do not trust women to make their own health care decisions. Let's bring up a pole here harris is gaining ground in the
sun belt state. She is leading slightly in three out of those four states. Trump has a one
point lead in
north carolina. My question is for you is this isdebate on
september 10 telling nbc getting under former
president trump skin remaining home and pointing out broken promises. doctor george in connection with matthew perry's death is now out on 50000 bond.
Federal judge granted the
release yesterday after
doctor marco chavez agreed to surrender his passport a medical license. Christina coleman is live with more on the story. Dr.
Mark chavez made his first appearance in federal
court downtown los angeles. He agreed to plead guilty earlier this month. Chavez some of the five people charged in this case with the others include another doctor and alleged
drug dealer who prosecutors called the
ketamine clean. The defendants played a role in matthew perry's overdose death by falsely prescribing, selling or injecting the ketamine the cause of perry to die at last october. Chavez did not go on
camera yesterday. His attorney spoke on his behalf. He is incredibly remorseful what happened. Not just because it happened to
matthew perry betty because it happened to a patient pretty trying to everything in his power to wr right the wrong that happened here. Let's
chavez plea agreement he admitted to diverting ketamine from his former clinic and submitting the fraudulent prescription and the name of a former patient without their
knowledge or consent. Prosecutors say the other doctor in this case sent a
text message to chavez while discussing how much to charge a perry for the ketamine stating quote i wonder how much this moron will pay. Thirtys describe the physicians in this case as unscrupulous doctors who took advantage of perry struggles with addiction. The judge told chavez he could remain free on bond if he abides by several restrictions included no longer
practicing medicine. His attorney was asked if chavez has a message from matthew perry's
grieving family. Here is his response. My client is sorry that someone lost their lives. Does not matter i would know he was incredibly universally loved by all. It's a shame at what happened. It's incredibly remorseful at
the end of the
day someone is trying to seek treatment died.

new jersey officials disclosed yesterday two people have died from the illness this comes amid the surge and another
mosquito virus eee new
hampshire resident died this week after testing positive for the disease is got much of
new england on high alert. Let's bring in senior scholar at the
johns hopkins center for health security. Thank you so much for joining us today. Let's talk about this mosquito borne illness it's short for eastern equine encephalitis. Apparently it's pretty rare the cdc says is only three 15 cases a year. The resident of
new hampshire that died, he was only 41 years old. Apparently had no underlying
health conditions. That's pretty scary. What more can you tell us? eee is unique. If you become ill with you are very likely to have a severe case. This is very different from other infections including westmount for example. You do not want to get it progresses to
brain infection in the very high number of cases who are infected and develop symptoms. If you do survive you're left with a disability per there is no vaccine for it. Anytime there's
eee activity in mosquitoes, and horses i take a pretty aggressive
health actions with
mosquito spra sprain, advis to the
general public. They are trying to avoid these cases they are no laughing matter. These are not minor infections. Anita: it sounds like it's a very serious. In fact there i read 30% of
people contract this
virus die. As you mentioned there is not any treatment for it. So what should a person do if they feel they have bitten by a mosquito on our experiencing symptoms? what symptoms would they be expensive it should cause concern?
work slippers types of symptoms in the at these and
mosquito borne illnesses are going to be overlapping with covid, with flu. Kocould be fever, chills, muscle aches, pains, headaches. Many of these when they progressed to the great snorkeling have confusion, seizures. People not behaving normally. Light might be bothering their eyes they are concerning symptoms. Anybody who has a fever that lives in one of those areas where there's activity they should be talking to their doctors about these fevers they are having and the mosquito laden air it with the might of been exposed to what is viruses. Anita: what would you say the differences between
eee and west nile virus? as i mentioned two people died from west
nile virus recently but with the symptoms be the same? why shoulwhat should
someone doy are experiencing a reaction from mosquito bite? the symptoms are overlapping. West nile is something everywhere in the united states for the lower 48 states all have west nile. Eee is restricted to new
england comic to some of the
gulf coast states is not something you see everywhere. West nile the minority of people get ill with it. Where it eee if you get symptoms are likely have a severe case. With west nile acute it severely ill you have it flew like illness and you get over it partly very minority progressed to the
brain infection so west nile is much less serious even thougas more widespread. More cases and more deaths on a pound for
pound basis is not as avirulent as eee. If you're someone who gets the symptoms you really need to think about if you've been exposed to a mosquito. Make sure the treating physicians know you've had
mosquito bites and that but that on the list of things are trying to rule out. Anita: we know from that news doctor
anthony fauci recently came down with
west nile virus. I know he was at home for a week and said he was absolutely the worst situation he's ever been and in terms of health. He said he'd never been sicker in his life. I remember he had covered several times that tells you how serious it is break going to put on the screens and preventative measure from the new hampshire
helpless or authority. Things people can do from if you
mosquito bite use effective
repellent spray to wear long sleeves and pants outside. It's a tough foot in the summer. If you're living on the air is tan east coast, northeast of
guf coast you have to think about that part avoid outdoor kitties the early a. M. And evening. This one is really important, remove standing water from around your home. Quickly, about 15 seconds left for it is or anything else you'd like to add to that list? what's most dangerous animal on this planet. We have to be aggressive and proactive in dealing with
mosquito borne illnesses like eee like west nile, like dengue, it's really important to remember you have to be proactive or these things will come back and creep up we have to make sure the control is sufficient. Worth most dangerous animals on the planet i'll take note of that. Thank you very much for your time today and really appreciate it. They never thought a mosquitoes quite like that. live in london for us, thank you. Bryan: colleges and universities across the country are facing substantial
budget cuts their impact for specific majors and programs just in time for the start of the fall semester. On college football but one of the reasons a windfall of
covid relief money colleges received after the pandemic is drying up. Let's bring in angela is a
spokes person for the defense of freedom and such at former
press secretary at the u. S. Department under secretary
betsy devos prethank you so much for being here. I appreciate it. This was a surprising story to make given the fact all we hear about is how expensive it is to go to college. I first thought was aware is all of our money going? there are
budget woes. How policeman was happening at that universities with the budget cuts. It's all about a
math problem. It's a perfect storm for colleges. The xmas of the covid money that was entirely predictable. Always going to expire colleges knew this. Because of two other factors both having to do with demographics. First, more and more students are choosing to forgo college because it is so expensive but i could talk for hours at how college is so expensive the government try to make it cheap. What really matters here is fewer and fewer students are opting to matriculate right after high school. To make matters worse for the schools there are fewer students over all thanks to a declining birthrate. They're getting a smaller slice of a smaller pie. Bryan: how much of this do you think is a fact students are more and more going to trade schools? culinary schools,
construction jobs, that does not seem to be that's a trend that does not seem to be slowing down but that seems like a good problem on its face. But is that something that could really put these colleges in a real pickle? definitely troubling for colleges who don't adapt to give the students realworld experience that they can used to get a job and excel in that job. There's one group of colleges at the buck the trend it's its vocational and technical schools. More and more people are choosing to go get a degree that might not have that nancy of a diploma as
harvard or yale or any other for your college. But it let's them enter the workforce and start
making money sooner and in less debt. This is a
market shift i would recommend to anybody running a fouryear college, may be wise up to this. Make sure they are equipping their students to exceed along after graduation. Bryan: one of these colleges going to be doing here? not only closing down majors, also closing down some universities appear they have been colleges that have had to close it. What are we talking about a realworld effects for the students?
forchestra students whose colleges did not plan a light are being left out the cold. They knew this was coming for they have to plan for these things. If they did not make students aware, that's awful for the students and the families it is the
colleges problem. Now, what is happening here is these closures are not evenly spread across colleges throughout the country. Most of these closures hitting smaller
liberal arts schools. A lot of his problem starts out in k12. And by that i mean people just are not ready to do
college work but at estimate one and five ine graduating
high school seniors appeared they're actually prepared for
college work there's not enough students to fill up seats in these colleges and a lot of these small schoos just cannot keep the doors open. Anita: list of the forbes advisory surge done on
college students by the first one says the most common reason for choosing a major 43% the personal
passion or interest. The next question was how many students are concerned with their overall
health and safety on campus? this one was surprising. 42% were somewhat or very concerned. The last one here what type of classes are you enrolled for in the
fall semester in person classes 43%. Even after covid online class is still making up 21% rate the growing 35% as hybrid. What stood out of these
survey questions and the results? have got to say the concern for
safety and security on campus is not a surprise but look what happened at the university just a few months ago but migrant crime, student lost her life. You are also coming off of a
school year that's largely defined by the aftermath of
october 7. If you have a pro hamas a
fan club on your
front lawn you're very understandably going to feel less safe at school. It does not surprise me at all students are very concerned about finding a job after college. They are spending a lot of money to get these degrees they are concerned about the return on their investment. Before ultimately $40000 is the average
student loan debt. I was actually really surprised about the online classes. Not really surprised but a little disappointed. Like that's where colleges will go to save a buck. I wish i had more time to speak to you about this. But thank you so much for your insight on this important topic. My pleasure. Bryan: we will be right back everyone. You've been waiting for. west virginia game played that game got delayed because of the storm moving through it. Lots of lightning and these guys could see damaging wind in them as well couple reports of damaging wind out of that line. This really shows the picture you've got this front that will slowly move across the northeast then you have a developing a low over the northern gulf. These are the biggest problem areas of the next couple of days very heavy rain along the northern
gulf coast places like
new orleans to
lake charles, houston, galveston that area yet. Severe weather over the next couple of hours in the interior northeast. But as a line of stored makes into a
