The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission had announced that the free internet would be available until the end of the year, but as the pandemic continues to ravage the country, the free internet has been extended into the new year. Minister of Communications and Multimedia Saifuddin Abdullah announced the extension, citing that the free 1GB internet will be extended until the Jaringan Prihatin programme, announced during Budget 2021, kicks in nationwide within the month of April.
