A GENEROUS donation has kickstarted a fund with the aim of helping young people from challenging backgrounds in the county. Last week the Cumbria Community Foundation announced the launch of the fund, after a gift of "over £100,000" from an anonymous donor. The foundation is managing the money which is looking to support the development of young people during the Coronavirus pandemic. The donor said: “In the best of times, many young people in our communities need inspiration to realise their full potential. "The Covid-19 crisis has only added urgency to this, and the Young Persons Opportunity Fund seeks to help ensure that we do not lose the talents and energies of our young people”.
