âMain Street Holly created a Gofundme to help raise funds to save the Holly Union Depot. âThe campaign on Facebook is called, âSave Our Holly Union Depot.â A gofundme page is also being established. âThe current Depot, which was built in 1886 after a fire burned down the original, has been an historic focal point of the Holly community since the 1860s, when the railway helped connect Canada to the eastern U.S. and allowed more travel within Michigan. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places. âNick Klempp, secretary of Main Street Holly and the Holly Downtown Development Authority (DDA) director, said because the Depot is between two railroad tracks and safety policies, it can no longer be used and workers cannot do maintenance.
