Gadsden's FIrst Friday event, summer concert series, return

At long last, Gadsden's First Friday is back for June, with all the traditional elements from the pre-pandemic event, and some new ones — including plans for one of the biggest hot rod cruise-ins in the state.
Downtown Gadsden Inc. Director Kay Moore said traditionally, on the first Friday of every month (except the coldest months of winter), when the City of Gadsden blocks off Broad Street for the cruise-in, entertainment and vendors, crowds gather.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, that was not possible. For month after month, the event was canceled. Now, with vaccinations underway, case numbers down and the state mask order over, DGI decided it's time to revive First Friday on June 4.
