International buyers, especially from the US, have placed around $500 million worth of orders with garment exporters in the Philippines, according to the Foreign Buyers Association of the Philippines (FOBAP). The country has received orders from American fashion brands for basic babies’ playwear, women’s dresses, intimate apparel and men’s athletic and sportswear, Robert M Young, FOBAP president and trustee of the Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc., said at a recent virtual forum.
