Gas Prices: Up They Go Again About a month ago, we woke up to find gas prices had suddenly gone up at our local gas stations and beyond. Some prices increased up to 25 cents per gallon. That's a heck of a jump. Well, on Monday (12/28) The American Automotive Association (AAA) website reported that prices nationwide have increased an average of three cents per gallon. That's on top of the rather large increase we experienced in November. AAA notes that the average national price per gallon is now $2.25. I've seen many gas stations in our area listing unleaded gas at $2.29. Crude oil prices have gone up and are at their highest since last February according to AAA, with a spokesperson quoted as saying “Despite low demand, pump prices are more expensive because crude oil has seen steady gains.”
