Generous gesture helps Brampton volunteers finish community project

A GENEROUS gesture by a Cumbrian waste contractor is helping campaigners to finish a community project in Brampton.
The Cumbria Waste Group, which is owned by the county council, has donated 60 tonnes of road planings and aggregate to help level the car park for the 40 new allotments on waste ground at Cotehill Park.
The park is home to Irthing Vale Wanderers Cricket Club and, more recently, the Border City Lacrosse club.
Since September the area has been transformed by volunteers into allotments for residents.
But this meant the car parking area needed to be resurfaced to cater for demand.
The aggregate is enough to level and repair the area.
