Installation of the test equipment is expected to be completed in July 2021 The Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) has said it is will soon commission and hand over a new energy efficient testing laboratory for the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA). The development comes after construction work on a Containment Building for a testing laboratory began in June 2020. According to a statement issued by the authority and sighted by GhanaWeb, the facility will be completed by the end of March 2021, while the installation of the test equipment is expected to be completed in July 2021. “The Test Laboratory will be the first of its kind in the West African Sub-Region and will conduct tests and offer services that will ensure that high energy-consuming electrical appliances, such as Air Conditioners and Refrigerators, imported into Ghana, meet the Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) set out in the Energy Commission’s Regulations,” the statement read.
