(Shutterstock) HEMPSTEAD, NY — Gold's Pure Foods LLC has been manufacturing two long-time New York food products—Gold's Horseradish and Fox's U-Bet syrups—since the 1930s. The company will shutter its Hempstead plant this spring, citing pressures from the coronavirus pandemic and aging equipment at the site. The shuttering of the 1 Brooklyn Rd. plant will result in 48 layoffs, according to a December 22 state filing.
